| Anyone else at any unionized agency whose view is - I'm not coming back 5 days a week, do what you want? I can't be the only one thinking this? |
Just looked at my agency's CBA and it very clearly says 2 days per PP in office, 8 days remote; there are outs in there - business needs, poor performance etc. I assume this will all play out under business needs - now suddenly the govt needs everyone in the office. Fine. But do we think the union won't try to litigate that and say tell us what changed in the business needs? |
His whole thing is that we need to cut costs. He's not going to advocate for overtime pay. Salaried government employees who are FLSA exempt should expect a 50 hour workweek without OT. |
| Fully remote should be eliminated except some special cases, like if the job has quota. |
no they shouldn't. |
Pre-Covid I didn’t work. So yay for forcing more women out of the workforce. |
Is fully remote a huge thing? Maybe I'm just not well connected bc I don't understand where this omg feds NEVER go to the office, they're sitting home for 4+ years even comes from. Most people I know at various agencies go in 2-6 times per pay period. So 1-3 times/week. And at my agency people do it - it isn't mgmt looking the other way so people not coming in. |
That's not a "plan" that's Vivek speaking to Tucker Carlson about how much he hates feds. |
So he wants a 50hr work week without paying people for ten extra hours worked? Got it lol |
| the more DOGE talks, the more it becomes obvious this isn't about efficiency or actually trying to make the federal government more productive. so surprising that a trump initiative is a lie. |
No, it's already special cases and quota jobs. Fully remote exists but is not the norm. |
How do you see this playing out? He and Elon will make this recommendation to the president and he can implement it virtually immediately via executive order. |
Again, if you are a salaried FLSA exempt employee, like a lawyer or an accountant or a manager/supervisor, you work when your employer wants you to work. There are no "extra" hours. |
This. I teleworked pre-covid, but doing so kept me in a low level position. I was able to advance significantly when WFH became more widespread. I know other women who didn't work or worked part time, because somebody has to be near the house for the before- and after-school stuff. TBC, I'm not talking about childcare during working hours, I'm talking about being home at 5:00 so you can drive kids places and make dinner. |
