RTO is unfortunately happening everywhere.

No these are layoffs by another name

Not really. I know people who work at RTO companies and they are not quitting in this economy just so they don’t need to go in 2x week if they live 1-2 hours away from an office. The only people quitting are the people who would need to move to a different state to go in and can’t because they have a mortgage and kids in school.

That's fine, but the intent and effect is a layoff of those people. If not enough people quit over RTO they'll do something else to drive people away, and then eventually actual layoffs.

No. They are just making it official, the pretend working from home.

Just because you’re lazy, undisciplined and can’t work without being in the office doesn’t mean other people aren’t working at home. Not everyone is as pathetic as you.

Or they want to get back to harassing interns and new employees.

Telework/hybrid is here to stay. Most companies in the private sector are offering some version of hybrid work and the percentages of full-time onsite companies has actually declined since 2022. OPM has already run a study indicating Feds already work more in office than the private sector. Face it, the government is going to actually be WAY WORSE than the private sector, and that is by design. The very point is to get people to quit (stealth layoffs)
