There is literally no way for them to 'immediately' require RTO. The federal government literally doesn't have enough office space for everyone to RTO and in some offices it makes sense, has improved productivity and it would cost the government more and be LESS efficient to have us come in. PTO for instance has had extensive telework for ages (long before COVID) because so many employees review patents and can do that from home easily and have a quota they have to meet for performance.

i really don't understand all of these RTO posts. my agency is back in the office 3x a week - as many others are as well. this is the level that was maintained prior to covid for many years. if you are talking about zero TW, that is not the same as RTO.

Vivek wants you back 5 days a week in the office.

He and Musk have the ear of the President - elect (at least the one that wasn't shot off, so sad) and like it or not, they will be heard. They do not need a title, the President-elect and his staff will take their suggestions and run with them. You can laugh all you want, I feel this one is a bit of a "get you back" kind of thing from Trump, it is scary and unpredictable. So stop saying they do not have a title when that fact really does not matter.

it does matter, and Trump doesn't have the power that he thinks he does.

No one knows the answers to these questions.

However, Vivek has said he wants feds in the office 8-6 everyday and claims this can be done via EO. We shall see.
