WTF did they admit to? They lost at trial. Their admissions this year look nothing like what they said it would look like. They claimed that Asian admissions would rise, the black population would drop by more than half and the hispanic population would drop by about half. Compare that to what actually happened. |
No, they aren't. They select based on individual merits and not racial preferences or otherwise they'd be inviting huge class action lawsuits. |
DP, I am probably the poster that you think you are responding to but the PP has non idea how law school admissions works. There are plenty of blacks and hispanics with near perfect GPA, the disparity is usually in the LSAT score. For a good law school a white male probably needs a 172 or so on the LSAT while tyhe required score would be much lower for blacks and hispanics. |
And also because of the racial discrimination. |
Yes they are. They are actually getting sued over this. They got sued before and they lost. What makes you so sure they are telling the truth this time? |
False. Stop with the race baiting BS! |
|
HBCU’s are against affirmative action as well. They get higher admissions during Republican administrations. Most HBCU presidents used to openly brag about voting Republican.
I know many that hated Obamas eight years and secretly celebrated when affirmative action was shut down by the SC last year |
It's pretty much established fact. |
I get it. HBCUs have been responsible for the lion's share of black income mobility and yet affirmative action at harvard gets all the credit. There are more black med students that went to Howard, Spelman, Morehouse and Xavier undergrad than the entire IVY+ combined. There are more black law students that went to those 4 HBCU schools that the entire IVY+ combined. There are far more black middle class families where one parent went to an HBCU than middle class black families where one parent went to an IVY+ HBCUs are far more important to black social mobility than affirmative action but everyone acts like the death of affirmative action means blacks can no longer attend college. |
| Did anyone ever give documentation showing the massive financial damage done to whites that Trump now wants reparations for? |
No, it's quite true. The difference between these groups in standardized testing is enormous. In 2006, the median GPA and LSAT percentiles for admittees to the elite law schools was 3.8 and 98 respectively. At that time, fewer than 20 black law students in the entire country met those standards. Affirmative action has required dramatically changing stanards in ways that are uncomfortable for many to discuss. |
You missed the entire part of the Harvard lawsuits where Asians were judged much more 'harshly' on their character scores. They were cited as basically being 'too quiet and therefore likely not to succeed on a team environment', 'not funny', and other racist trope BS that was used to evaluate and reject them rather than basing it off their aptitude. Imagine rejecting an African American student because the interviewer wrote down "likely to be too loud and will disrupt class". There would be outrage at that racist stereotype. Yet that's what happened to Asian students at some of these schools. |
I'm not calling you a liar but you need a cite reference source that can corroborate such a bizarre and awful happening. |
Nope |
Keep up. Asians consistently scored the lowest almost across the board on 'personal ratings', which is basically used to reject them: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/06/15/us/harvard-asian-enrollment-applicants.html The folks that met the Asian candidates in person gave them good ratings but the "personal committee" who DO NOT meet the Asian candidate gave them bad scores on "likeability, courage, and kindness". Wut? It's one thing to rate a single person on those metrics, but when an entire group looks like they're consistently scoring the lowest for those kinds of subjective metrics, it entirely looks like racial discrimination based on flimsy BS like "likeability". |
