Chappelle Roan concert meltdowns

They all handle fame differently, but the thing is fans and fame are toxic. There is no denying that.

And I agree there is neurodivergence or childhood abuse or some combination of the two at work in Chappell. But I still like her music and really enjoy singing to it. Hopefully, some kind of detente comes out of this for Chapelle.

Because when she was booking the shows she was the side act that nobody listened to. She is now the front act and being chased by paparazzi.

They aren’t free people at all- they are beholden to public opinion in a way that ends up stunting creativity in music. How can a musician create without all the fandoms crap? I guess many on DVUM think they can’t, but I think we are missing out on great songs if that is a hard line.

Yes fans feel they have a right to attend concerts once they pay for and purchase tickets. The artists make a ton of $$$ from them.

If an artist doesn't want to do concerts at all, that is a valid choice. But scheduling concerts and cancelling will make ppl angry and they are entitl d to their feelings.

Oh I thought it was a festival and other acts were still performing? I mean it wouldn’t be very respectful of other up and coming artists if the entire show was cancelled.

If “like attracts like” why are Taylor fans issuing death threats to reporters and taking mean swipes at her exes online. The PP statement was coming from a very mean-spirited place, not building an argument that chapelles fans are over zealous.

Yeah it was eaiser for her to balance the two with a smaller audience but that's not possible anymore.

It is a festival at Merriweather Post and she wasn’t even the headliner. She was like the number 20th top artist until August..

Or maybe she hasn’t had time to even think about it since in June she was playing on a side stage at random festivals and it wasn’t until July or August people even thought of putting her on the front stage.

Taylor isn’t canceling concerts and complaining about her fans this way, so like does not equal like. You can take issue all you like but the fact is her fans are doing this, she is responding the way she is, and it’s all a mess. Take it or leave it.

It’s like any business that grows too fast they fail, Or they regroup get a team that can handle a large business versus a small business and then come back.

She needs to step back a team make a realistic schedule, get off social media and make music. 🎶
