That is definitely one factor, but the other is her attitude about it. People are bringing up Taylor and Simone, but they are very gracious with their fans. There’s been several instances where chapel acts annoyed at her fans, especially with the video telling people they need to use critical thinking skills in choosing how to vote, and the way she talked to photographers on the red carpet at the VMAs. I’m guessing she may be neurodivergent with the way she interacts with people, which unfortunately sometimes you come off way that you don’t intend. I hate to say it, but she sure is unlikable at times.

Well, probably most people are unlikealbe at times. Simone definitely seems gracious with her fans, but she gets less of the paps and fandom than pop princesses do.. Taylor has always seemed manipulative with her fan base and Beyoncé seems like she tries to ice queen people away. Chapell is yelling at fans and the paps to get space. They all handle fame differently, but the thing is fans and fame are toxic. There is no denying that.

And I agree there is neurodivergence or childhood abuse or some combination of the two at work in Chappell. But I still like her music and really enjoy singing to it. Hopefully, some kind of detente comes out of this for Chapelle.

Yelling and acting inappropriate is not required. She could rise above it but she apparently wants to roll around in the muck. It’s not very surprising her fan base seems to be as unhinged and off kilter as she seems to be. Like attracts like.

Yet, the way you invoke personal attacks as an argument strategy is demonstrative of your ability to roll around in the muck. Can you rise above?

She’s complaining about her fans. Are you saying they aren’t actually a problem?

If “like attracts like” why are Taylor fans issuing death threats to reporters and taking mean swipes at her exes online. The PP statement was coming from a very mean-spirited place, not building an argument that chapelles fans are over zealous.

“unhinged and off kilter” are not objective statements, they are adjectives used to disparage. As is “wants to roll around in the muck”

Taylor isn’t canceling concerts and complaining about her fans this way, so like does not equal like. You can take issue all you like but the fact is her fans are doing this, she is responding the way she is, and it’s all a mess. Take it or leave it.

It’s like any business that grows too fast they fail, Or they regroup get a team that can handle a large business versus a small business and then come back.

She needs to step back a team make a realistic schedule, get off social media and make music. 🎶

She’s not going away.

Usually they dump the CEO because the person who started the business and got it off the ground, is not often the same person who can run a multi-national thousand person corporation.

Didn’t Taylor cancel concerts and refuse to talk about it or something? That poor young girl dying in rio and the Vienna thing.

Beyoncé had a mess at fed ex stadium and Taylor fans were saying Taylor was smarter than anyone to never have to cancel and then Taylor had a fan die and the Vienna thing. Within days of each other.

Bad stuff happens and I think saying it is ok to cancel for weather or sickness but not ok for the performers mental health is not the direction young people are heading.

It is a mess, but clearly non fans are on chappelle too, so it is bigger than just her fan base.

I hope she figures it out and the “vipers” (as Taylor apparently lovingly calls her fans) give her space to do so.

The Austrian government canceled Taylor’s concert and she was not allowed to talk about it until it was safe for her to do so because they were securing the next concerts in London. She did end up posting about it and basically put her critics in check like if I’m not talking about some thing there’s a reason for it. How can you even compare the two situations? Terrorist threat to blow up thousands of people versus Chapelle getting butt hurt over some online comments?

Here Is what Taylor said about cancelling Vienna.

“Walking onstage in London was a rollercoaster of emotions. Having our Vienna shows cancelled was devastating. The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows. But I was also so grateful to the authorities because thanks to them, we were grieving concerts and not lives. I was heartened by the love and unity I saw in the fans who banded together. I decided that all of my energy had to go toward helping to protect the nearly half a million people I had coming to see the shows in London. My team and I worked hand in hand with stadium staff and British authorities every day in pursuit of that goal, and I want to thank them for everything they did for us. Let me be very clear: 1 am not going to speak about something publicly if I think doing so might provoke those who would want to harm the fans who come to my shows.
In cases like this one, 'silence' is actually showing restraint, and waiting to express yourself at a time when it's right to. My priority was finishing our European tour safely, and it is with great relief that I can say we did that.”

Parent of a Gen Z fan here and that's not at all how this is landing, even among the young folks who are hypersensitized to mental health.

They feel like she ran her mouth when she didn't need to, and then couldn't handle the backlash, so backed out on a concert that a lot of them had saved up for. She's not coming out of this looking like a Simone Biles taking care of her mental health. The young people are frustrated, and they think this is entirely self-inflicted.

Some one was pissed about not getting a refund at a festival where she wasn’t even a headliner- so how is there any comparison to be made between a woman cancelling a small piece of a concert festival and a Taylor swift show in the first place?

Chappell was her grandfathers name and Roan was apparently from the title of his favorite song so she wanted a stage persona, a brand and went with grandpa as her inspiration.

True, but Chappelle is getting all this backlash because this is the fifth or six show she’s canceled! For example, She canceled several in Europe last month so she could practice for the VMAs! It seems to be a pattern of unpredictability.
