It's the SELECTIVE focus on migrants who commit crimes that's the problem. Lots of native-born Americans do horrible things and he doesn't talk about them.

In fact, far more native-born Americans do horrible things.

Illegal immigrants commit crimes at a 60% per capita lower rate than natural born Americans. Illegal immigrants are model citizens compared to Americans, and that is an indisputable, undeniable fact. Demonizing them as "criminals" is racism, pure and simple.

This is one of those purposely misleading stats. Once you control for race, you see that immigrants are generally more criminal than natives. Its just that a certain portion of the native population commits so many crimes it skews everything.

“Misleading” is pretending that the law is equal. I guess we’re supposed to pretend that some American-born white drunk kid who kills four people and getting away with it via “affluenza” is not an example of why certain races Don’t appear in those “stats” Same with that white college kid who raped a drunk, unconscious girl and got away with it because the judge felt it would ruin his life.

Just keep telling yourself that hasn’t been the history of the justice system and why absolute filth like Trump has gotten away with grotesque criminal behavior his whole life.

DP. I think everyone would agree that there are not races / ethnicities that are more inclined to criminal behavior. It’s all about poverty, access, etc. So it wouldn’t surprise me to learn that well off white men behave better than migrants. Not because of anything inherent in their race or culture, but because of circumstances, poverty and traumatic upbringing.

What year is that stat from?

Here's a fun realization. If you didn't have 25 million illegal immigrants, you would have a 0% per capita lower rate than natural born americans. Wait, then you could devote more resources to those terrible natural born americans. Illegal immigration is a drain on every resource in the country.

Here's another fun realization: our economy does somewhat rely on those illegal immigrants who work the dirty jobs, those industries that lean heavily R (farms, janitorial work, lawn care).

So, if you want to get rid of illegal immigration, a wall won't cut it because a lot of them just get work visas then over stay their visa working in those industries. You want to kick them all out? You gotta kill the demand in those industries. How to do that. Make the penalty so high that it becomes not worth it. Right now, the penalty is tiny in comparison to the profit those businesses (many owned by Rs) can make by hiring cheap labor.

But, Rs will never do this because those business owners are their voters and donors.

I don't hear Trump/Vance supporting higher penalties, do you? Of course not, because Trump's hotels even use those cheap illegal immigrant labor, as do many of his friends' businesses.

So, instead, Vance throws the boogey man out about legal Haitians living here, and like the cult members MAGA are, they lap it up.

A border wall will do nothing about the visa overstayers.

Unfortunately, that is far too complicated for the MAGA simpletons to comprehend. That’s why the Trump had to keep his propaganda very simple: “build a wall”

You mean like, “Build Back Better”? Simple indeed.

Or “Defund the Police” and “Vote Blue No Matter Who.” Democrats are such simpletons.

More projection.

How many MAGAs understand who is actually hiring the undocumented workers and incentivizing them to come in the first place? Who is picking them up by the truckload at the border and bringing them up to their plants?

Exactly. To say that Trump is against illegal immigration is to say that he is against grabbing pu$$ies, which is simply not true.

Except that Trump/Vance want to mandate EVerify. Does Harris?

Has Harris ever used illegal immigrants to make money? Why didn't Trump fix this when he was president? Why did all the Hatians arrive in Ohio under Trump?

Huh? You seem confused.

Shortly after President Joe Biden took office, he moved to reinstate TPS for Haiti, sharply increasing the number of Haitians eligible to apply for the status.

This past June, Biden expanded protections for Haitians again, ruling that the more than 300,000 migrants from the country who arrived in the U.S. after November 2022 were eligible to apply for TPS while allowing more than 200,000 Haitians whose protections were expiring to apply for an 18-month extension.

I'm not for illegal immigration, but that picture is incredibly sad. Imagine how horrible their lives were in their home country to risk their lives fleeing to another country where they don't speak the language, especially with little kids.

One can not support illegal immigration but have compassion for people.

Sure. Why didn’t they accept asylum at any of the other country they travelled through?

Most of these Haitians had already settled in South American countries like Chile. They decided to come here when Joe Biden and Kamala Harris offered open borders and TPS.

Exactly. It’s so telling that Ds memory hole all of the pertinent facts.

But the way the law is *applied* is the issue. Do you really think if a migrant had killed four people while he was drunk, he could use "poverty" as an excuse the way a white kid could use "wealth" has his excuse? The crime is the SAME, the punishment is not.

Many Republicans own these companies/factories that hire undocumented workers (sometimes children).

One example:
https://www.cleveland.com/metro/2018/06/fresh_mark_where_ice_arrested.html

“ Fresh Mark, the meat packaging company federal immigration agents raided Tuesday and arrested 146 people, has a history of accusations that it hired undocumented immigrants for years to work at the facility

One of them died there in December.

An ex-employee said in a whistleblower lawsuit filed against the Canton-based company in 2001 that the company knowingly hired undocumented immigrants and that employees often forged documents on behalf of workers.”

“ Neil Genshaft serves as CEO of Fresh Mark, according to public records. He has a history of donating to local and national Republican candidates”

Affluent teens break a lot of laws as a right of passage but are rarely prosecuted. The whole Georgetown Prep crew that Kavanaugh was part of would have been sent to juvenile detention facilities, at least, if they had been Black.
