that specific comment was meant hypothetically 🙄 |
oh. i was hoping urbanbaby was back with its college discussion board. |
Not true. 5-6 students go to Davidson from our area’s too privates each year. Some (RD admits) have picked Davidson over Vandy, Notre Dame, Georgetown, Emory. Many have picked it over UVa. We get detailed scoir data that sorts by year and it is easy tell what schools kids got admitted to based on the “dots” matching. |
Tim Duncan and Steph Curry. |
I know a few Davidson students who are generally happy but not the blissful happy pp describes. Their complaint is mostly with the small size of the school (1900), wish they chose somewhere bigger and spend a fair amount of weekends roadtripping to other NC schools. Of course, for some kids, that is the perfect size, and perhaps those kids are having the experience pp describes. |
What a nasty comment! Both these schools get a ton of ED1 apps. Once every week or so, there is a thread started by a parent complaining their kid has no friends, no fun, can’t join clubs, etc . . . That really isn’t the case at either of these schools which are both filled with well rounded kids. Kids who will work hard on their studies but also value having an active social life. |
That’s not true. Kids from NY/NJ very interested in Wake now. |
NY/NJ/CT are among the ten states sending the most kids to Wake, definitely more kids from there than the DMV. |
I got turned off when I found out Prez has to be Christian. |
And this isn’t just a “now” thing - my sorority had a lot of girls from these areas 30 years ago. |
It is where rich, conservative kids who are not that smart go. |
RE: Wake. Everyone i know who goes there fits this description. I don't know Davidson. |
Agree with this. Also don't know Davidson. |
Most represented states at UVA: - Virginia - New York - New Jersey - Pennsylvania - Maryland - Connecticut Most represented states at W&M: - Virginia - New Jersey - Maryland - Pennsylvania - New York - California |
New Davidson parent responding. The student who thrives there is nice, curious, sports-loving, hard-working. The student who would be unhappy would be a student who is looking for a place where they can hide or coast academically. It is rigorous with lots of reading and writing. |
