In NY, no one will be interested in these schools. Zero interest. Are they really that good? |
Oh really. Because lots of kids from NY apply there and are there! Take a look. ![]() |
Well from NJ there is a lot of interest in them, and William and Mary! To each his own. They are great schools, all in that approaching-T25 range with really bright students very similar to the T15-25 range yet slightly less competitive to get an acceptance . |
Right. Because it’s only NYers opinions that matter. How could I have forgotten. |
+44 Some people thought that “New Yorker” magazine cover with the New Yorkers’ distorted view of the world was a humorous exaggeration, but it was actually an accurate depiction. |
It only takes one prolific poster to really change the tone on DCUM about a school.
There is a definite Davidson booster on here who posts all the time. Her son started there about 2 years ago. I think it's a great school but she makes it sound like the greatest school known to mankind. Take DCUM with a grain of salt at all times. |
Funny, after NC, NY is the most represented state at both schools |
There is an enormous contingent at Wake from NY/NJ/CT, and I think expect Davidson is similar. Learn that your preferences aren’t universal. |
People from dc don’t want anything to do with New Yorkers. |
We looked at Davidson. Our DC didn’t wind up going but it is a great school. It should be noted that loans are not part of the schools FA. That is a nice benefit. |
This is the best response. 🤣🤣👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 |
Does Davidson have any Jewish kids? Community? |
Davidson is a great school, especially for kids who might consider a SLAC in the NE but would prefer to stay closer to home/SE. As the WSJ noted, Davidson has great student outcomes (ranked 10th in WSJ’s overall ranking). Davidson also sends a lot of kids to medical schools, law schools, and PhD programs. |
