I'm petite as well, I agree that they lengthen the leg, but they're hard to style as an outfit if your torso is short and your waist isn't super tiny.

My torso is short, my waist isn't super tiny, and I actually find them easier to style than a lot of other styles of jeans. I wonder if we're short waisted in different ways? I also wear a lot of midi skirts and dresses - I like the proportions of something more fitted on top and a-line or loose on bottom. I'm just five feet tall FWIW.

Another shorter person who likes the wide leg higher waisted. My guess is that it doesn’t work on short people with a big chest because it’s harder to do the fitted on top and wide leg bottom. I also tend to like the wide legged better in a softer fabric, the jeans can sometimes look llle a paper stick figure with pants drawn on — like they could just walk away on their own.

I'm short with a medium sized torso but a proportionately tiny top - shoulders, chest, all of it. Wide legged just make me look extra hippy. I don't look good in skinny either. Slim straight or a slight boot.

Eh I don't think they really left. This supposed "comeback" is based on a Miu Miu show (the Alexander McQueen look doesn't have skinny jeans). The brand has been trendy based on the Y2K resurgence but not everyone followed it. A lot of luxury influencers (younger, in their 20s/30s) like Miu Miu because it's still high-end but more playful, but almost no one really dresses like this.

Question though. Can I still wear skinny ankle cut black pants? Spanx 4 pocket ankle pant was my go to for work, and Spanx has now gotten rid of almost anything but wide legs. Blah.

I do. But you can find any style in a store nowadays, and people have dressed accordingly. I see a bunch of different styles where I live, and not everyone cares for influencers (who are not of high status anyhow).
