Vogue says skinny jeans are back

I am pear shaped and look ridiculous in skinny jeans. I hated that whole Han Solo vest/skinny jeans/tall boots phase. And the Christian Girl Autumn phase with the waterfall cardigans and floppy hats and infinity scarves wasn't any better.

lol my friend and I call it pirate season everyone out swashbuckling in their slinkies and boots with long sweaters and billowy shirts

Sorry but I really like the long open cardigan for fall, particularly over any kind of fitted pant. It's like wearing a blanket -- so comfy. I sometimes belt them or pin them across with a brooch. It's my Lord of the Rings look -- equally at place at the office or at Renn Fest.

Hey there - wide leg jeans look great on tall, slim people like me And they are comfortable. And more youthful.

I am never wearing tight pants again for the rest of my life. It's the only good outcome of the Covid Era.

I'm a petite person and I love them. When proportioned properly, they make me look leggy.

I'm petite as well, I agree that they lengthen the leg, but they're hard to style as an outfit if your torso is short and your waist isn't super tiny.

I wear them with Chelsea boots and a sweater, what year is that from

Me too - also short and I like wide leg jeans. I liked skinnies back when it was all skinnies all the time but it's nice not to feel so constricted.

This is me - I do like clothes and try to be a little fashionable but it is pretty much a guarantee that as soon as I get a new pair of jeans, that style is OVER

Me too! I must have been the last convert when skinny jeans came around the first time and apparently my internet search for straight legs last week helped tip it back again. Have I lost some years again or has this seemed like a quick turnaround?

This one was quicker than most.

Whatever. I like all types of jeans and will continue wearing them all.

Because most people prefer the look of skinny/straight the best.

In my mind skinny jeans will always look so much better. I can see why Gen Z preferred the oversized look- most of their influencers are young, with skinny, young girl bodies without curves. But if you have a good figure, with a good butt and nice thighs, nothing showcases it like skinnies. Theyre just sexier

My torso is short, my waist isn't super tiny, and I actually find them easier to style than a lot of other styles of jeans. I wonder if we're short waisted in different ways? I also wear a lot of midi skirts and dresses - I like the proportions of something more fitted on top and a-line or loose on bottom. I'm just five feet tall FWIW.

Another shorter person who likes the wide leg higher waisted. My guess is that it doesn’t work on short people with a big chest because it’s harder to do the fitted on top and wide leg bottom. I also tend to like the wide legged better in a softer fabric, the jeans can sometimes look llle a paper stick figure with pants drawn on — like they could just walk away on their own.

+1 haha.. don't throw out your jeans. It will eventually come back.

I’ve made the mistake of getting rid of jeans three times only for them to come back in style. Usually I keep them for 10 years before I finally cave and get rid of them. This skinny return was really fast.

Eh I don't think they really left. This supposed "comeback" is based on a Miu Miu show (the Alexander McQueen look doesn't have skinny jeans). The brand has been trendy based on the Y2K resurgence but not everyone followed it. A lot of luxury influencers (younger, in their 20s/30s) like Miu Miu because it's still high-end but more playful, but almost no one really dresses like this.
