We've been watching Lost - first time for me - and I can't get over (1) that all the people stuck on that island are wearing pants and jeans all the time instead of cutting themselves some shorts, and (2) that all the women look like if they bend over to pick something up they are going to be fully exposed in those pants! Why did we wear such low rise pants back then?! WHY? I like high rise, even though my build means that they are almost always too tight in the stomach if they fit everywhere else. How about a nice medium rise pants trend? How about THAT, Vogue/world? |
Skinny jeans force women to be in shape which for some is too much work. It weeds out the lazy |
Baby, they never left ![]() I dress for my build, not trends. As a 53-year old muscular thigh (former soccer player) and 5'4" frame--smaller waist--I look absolutely ridiculous in the big wide jean look. Ree-dic-you--lous. I kept my black skinny (not skintight--but straighter) and dark wash skinnies. I look so much better in them than like a potato sack. I find the over-sized trend only looked good on tall women and young girls, not so much middle-aged and old women. |
+1 neither did Kate Middleton ![]() |
Straight and flares forever over here. I am 5’5 and curvy and skinny is so bad on me |
The people in Lost spent a good bit of time traipsing through the woods so it would have made sense to keep their long pants, I think. |
Me too! I must have been the last convert when skinny jeans came around the first time and apparently my internet search for straight legs last week helped tip it back again. Have I lost some years again or has this seemed like a quick turnaround? |
+Never did, never will |
Also--those stupid longer socks over yoga pants/leggings makes your legs look awful. I think the younger gen looks ridiculous like that.
No-show or ankle socks with yoga pants looks sooooo much better---so much more flattering. With socks they look like they have piano legs. Rock that ankle bone (I guess if you have fat ankles or thick ones the longer socks might be better--but it not--don't do it!) |
+1 haha.. don't throw out your jeans. It will eventually come back. |
ha, I've just started watching Lost, too. |
Me too and I look very good in them I don't care what's "in" - doesn't seem like anybody cares as long as you looking good |
Don’t you see that dressing for your own shape and style will always remain fashionable? Why follow trends which will change for the sake of separating a fool from her money? |
I want trouser jeans back |
Boot cut for life. |
