DP: Actually any lifted car/truck (giant tires and jacked up suspensions) are dangerous on the road because of where the bumper ends up (sometimes eye level of other drivers, thus useless for safety), altered blind spots making it harder to see other cars and pedestrians, and making it hard for other cars to see around/past/through it to anticipate traffic. |
Total BS. Not true. Also, you insist on driving your shitty Prius and expect everyone else to conform to you. Not going to happen. We have a family of five and while we do not drive a wagoneer we do have a large vehicle because we absolutely need it. Get over your sanctimonious self. |
My Jeep has tires big enough for the average driver of typical cars in traffic to see traffic by looking under it. As for my bumper height - relax. If we ever crash into each other, my bumper will be up at your roofline, not your face. My tires and suspension will dissipate the crash forces between us. |
I like it. There’s something brash yet elegant about it. Pure Americana. Looks super cozy for long drives. |
I love the classic style. If they had brought that back, I would buy one. The new style is so generic. Every SUV looks almost the same. Especially the mid-size ones. |
+1 🤣 |
Station wagons were very long. I loved the area at the rear window where a kid or 2 could lay down. No seatbelts. |
how old are you- have you forgotten the giant boats that everyone drove back then? and noone wore seat bealts and bench seats in the front as well that could accomodate 3 adults and people were not as fat either. |
There is definitely a correlation between the supersizing of cars and homes and the supersizing of individuals. |
Which just proves that SUVs are all for image and show. Despite posters trying to insist why they “need” tbe SUV. I see a parent driving a big SUV, I know they care much more about their image than the comfort of their family and that tells me what I need to know. |
A fully loaded Odyssey is $50k. At certain trim levels, a Grand Wagoneer or Suburban, etc. is literally DOUBLE. When I see someone driving around in a new Yukon XL Denali trim, I know that person is a huge moron. |
This might be my favorite response ever on DCUM. And I've been here for years. |
I can't imagine caring about anything someone who uses this kind of insult would say. Do better. |
Having seen plenty of ACTUAL crimes against humanity - and the mass graves filled with that humanity - the title of your post is offensive and gross. You’ve led a very sheltered life. It’s just a car. |
| Good idea - I'll sell my 12 year-old car that I paid cash for used and buy a smaller $65,000 vehicle so I can spend less on gas. How long will it take me to make up the difference? |
