I've never liked large cars of any type. I understand minivans and trucks, for passengers and cargo respectively. But Jeeps and such? You're not off-roading on the ranch!
|
But some people are? |
| I am admittedly not a car person but I do get annoyed by people who try to claim that having a giant car like this is a necessity for a three-kid family. It absolutely is not - it is a luxury, and that is fine, but don't pretend you you can't possibly have a family of five without driving a $100k vehicle to and from Costco and ballet. |
| I just looked up this car and it looks exactly like all the other anonymous big SUVs, I don’t get the freak out. Is it really that much bigger than a Yukon or an ascent or whatever? |
Yeah, but it is a ‘luxury’ that kills *other* people or significantly increases the risk for bodily harm to pedestrians and other people on the road because of its stupidly monstrous size. I also wastes huge amounts of fuel unnecessarily. |
Cars of any size are not stupid. They are not more deadly. there is no evidence of that. Keep your energy nonsense to yourself. No one cares. And as I said someday they will be electric and be that big or bigger. Not sure the point of you post other to expose yourself as not all that bright. |
|
I wonder how many people on here are complaining about the size and it's such a waste live in large houses instead of small ones, such a waste of space.
Oh wait, never mind they will justify the needed space |
To me, it does look different. Yes, it is bigger than a Yukon or Ascent. |
Grand wagoneer: DIMENSIONS Wheelbase: 130.0 in Length: 226.7 in Width: 83.6 in Height: 77.3 in Passenger Volume: 172 ft3 Cargo Volume: 44 ft3 Curb Weight: 6428 lb Yukon: Wheelbase: 120.9 in Length: 210.0 in Width: 81.0 in Height: 76.5 in Passenger volume: 178 ft3 Cargo volume: 26 ft3 Curb weight: 6007 lb Escalade: Wheelbase: 134.1 in; Length: 227.0; Width: 81.1; Height: 76.5 in; Passenger volume: 180 ft3 ; Cargo volume: 43 ft3 ; Curb Weight: 6270 Ascent: Wheelbase: 113.8 in Length: 196.8 in Width: 76.0 in Height: 71.6 in Passenger Volume, F/M/R: 60/52/36 ft3 Cargo Volume, Behind F/M/R: 73/42/18 ft3 Curb Weight: 4578 lb The grand wagoneer is a monstrously sized ‘vehicle’. It is a foot bigger in width and length than other large SUVs. It is taller than the Escalade and even heavier than the Escalade. Sorry, but it is a r***rdedly sized vehicle. All of these suburban moron nitwits driving dumb crap like this expect to be able to drive these death machines in DC easily and also demand to have easy parking spaces for them. Utterly moronic. The people who blow $100k on these crap cars should go ride off a cliff. Everything around us would be so much better. In the interim, they should also be forced to pay much more vehicle taxes per year, because they drive ridiculously sized and heavy vehicles that tear up the roads a lot more per mile than everyone else who drives a much more reasonably sized sedan or wagon. |
How will a big house kill a pedestrian or other people on the road in smaller cars? What a stupid comparison. Obscenely sized cars impose hazards on everyone else in everyday life e every single time they’re taken out on the road because they hit pedestrians in the upper body in the head, or are so heavy they obliterate other cars on the road in an accident. |
Wow, how to expose yourself as an utter imbecile who has no understanding of physics 101. Pray tell, how do you calculate momentum again? Someone is completely oblivious to all of the research that has been done on this topic. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/tall-trucks-suvs-are-45-deadlier-us-pedestrians-study-shows-2023-11-14/ https://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/2018/06/28/suvs-killing-americas-pedestrians/646139002/ https://www.iihs.org/news/detail/new-study-suggests-todays-suvs-are-more-lethal-to-pedestrians-than-cars |
I've never heard of it either and did not expect such a beautiful car based on op. This is nicer looking than suburbans/tahoes... it is clearly bigger than an ascent. I have never been a fan of the giant vehicles either but this one is just really good looking and I'd love it except I've made my mind to go for a compact car when my mid suv is no longer working well. |

13 mpg for the city. $90+ to fill.
Starting is less than $70k. |
| I liked the looks of the Jeep Commander better -- or the vintage Wagoneer. |
| I’m not really opposed to large cars, but that thing is over the top. Ridiculous. |
