True but I think these are trolls or Trumpies

Nope, every mom and teen I know in real life (in Nova!!) shaves. I’m convinced all these non shavers are the new goth or something. It’s not a mainstream thing at all.

Same! Daughter spent her summer in Europe and didn’t see any girls/women who haven’t shaved. In fact, many boys trim their underarms as well.

As a European, that’s a complete lie

DD was a bit shocked at how much hair stuck out from the other girl’s bikini bottom. And the other girls unshaven pits were also a bit much at the pool.

DD is definitely sticking to shaving, or at least trimming, sensitive areas.

Glad to see the patriarchy will carry on another generation.

I model that it’s truly ok not to shave by…not shaving. I also point out when famous women don’t shave. But I’ll buy razors and give them to her so she can make the choice.

Let me guess - you have a very narrow friend group, not diverse. Certainly no LGBT representation. (specifically L or B)

We are friends with two married lesbian couples as well as a bi woman who is married to a man. All shave. Two of the lesbian wives - not sure about the armpits, but they wear shorts without hairy legs.

As someone who lived in Central Europe for years (for work, not European), it is not a lie. A lot of younger Polish men do this, for example.

Also, I don't ever remember seeing a European woman under the age of about 45 with unshaven legs. This includes UK, Germany, Poland, and France. I lived in each for several years.

Maybe in previous generations it was common for women not to shave, but that was certainly not the case for the years I lived there.

Now I live in a different region of the world, and no unshaven legs here either. I think it is nearly universal now.

I don't think sexual orientation is necessarily correlated with shaving.

After I saw this question I started thinking about all of her friends and I don’t remember any of them talking about shaving. Maybe some do but it certainly isn’t a thing for girls to do or talk about in high school

Shaved. Your teen has never shaved her legs. Her legs have never been shaven.

Funny, I grew up in California and I remember my best friend's (American) mom trying to convince us not to shave with "It's very European to let the hair grow." Didn't work on us. My high school boyfriend became a professsional soccer player in Germany after graduation and told me that's how they would identify the models at clubs and beaches -- shaved legs and armpits. Don't know if it was true -- he was kind of an idiot. But I think in the early 90s it was likely more common not to shave in some European countries. We were in France for an extended time in 2021-2022 and spent a ton of time on the beach -- didn't see many hair armpits on women but didn't get close enough to see their legs...
