I have already seen friends/families post two Wake ED admissions in the past 3 weeks and multiple recruited athlete postings over the summer; what is the big deal on posting ED Chicago ? |
| Any more ED0 acceptances? DC’s school insta has a bunch of kids going to other schools but nobody to UChicago yet. |
+1 |
| A junior at our school has already posted her acceptance to Duke to play Lacrosse. |
The process for recruited athletes is entirely different. Might also have been a likely letter rather than an acceptance. |
I know of one student who did the summer program and applied ED 0. Very strong student. Put on the waitlist. ED 0 is not a significant advantage over ED 1, but it does allow a student to hear back sooner and therefore gives essentially three shots at ED to three different schools. |
Our private college admissions coach said that the summer between sophomore and junior year was THE time to do a college program and study for SAT. The summer after junior year is for working that job in the community and college apps. Volunteer both summers. It makes sense. |
Jealousy. No one is jealous about wake forest or being a recruited athlete. |
Waitlisted? Heard it was only accept or reject for ED0 |
| Does UChicago publish their ED information somewhere? It will be intersesting to see what the social demographics of those admitted ED0 are. |
No, they don't publish. Typically, some ED numbers are leaked by the admissions dean at accepted student events. |
Have not seen anything on UChicago’s site saying the SSEN ED is a straight up or down response. |
| It makes no sense that UChicago would not use the option to defer with EA0. |
| We know a girl who was accepted to Chicago with this summer program ED0. She’s a NMSF from rural North Dakota, which I imagine isn’t a common profile. She needs financial aid but spent time with Chicago’s aid office before applying. Also if she is a NMF, ND gives you $20,000 per year to use at any college. |
But you think people are jealous of going to the school where fun dies? |
