Do you even know what it means? Google it. |
| John Candy would like a word, but he died from obesity. |
|
OMG they totally are. They may even be fatter from what I saw when I was there.
|
They burn their brown fat in winter. Their diets ARE better than ours. Also have you ever been inside a canadian grocery store? Little to no processed boxed food, mostly fresh fruit, vegetables, milk, cheese, meats and they're still skinner. Smaller portions as well. |
LOL please name this mysterious Canadian grocery store without processed food. Or maybe start by locating Canada on a map… |
|
Outside of the larger cities in Canada, like Toronto, Ottawa, etc., the Canadians are pretty hefty.
Just like here. People are slimmer and more fit in DC and New York City than in places like Southern VA or Buffalo NY. |
| They also breastfeed more and longer, which is good for adult weight control. |
yes- different races are different but people of African descent have higher muscle percentages so BMI calculation for them is a useless measure of obesity, asians have lower obesity rates but still develop expensive diseases like diabetes and cardiovascular illnesses so obesity is just part of it. national health is a disaster if you are actually ill, it is great for supporting health in a healthy population though. |
| Whether in Canada or the United States - there is no secret to being fat. Look at the shopping carts of obese families - they do it to themselves, and our food industry makes it easy to shape bad habits through marketing and availability. |
I’m obese by BMI and eat very little processed food, no fast food, no sodas and little to no junk food, eat a ton of fruits and simply prepared vegetables at home, many of which are from my garden seasonally, which takes hours of weekly activity to maintain. At least half of my protein is poultry or seafood. My shopping cart is extremely healthy and I am rarely sitting down for long periods of time, spending nearly my entire day on my feet. But I have persistent fat deposits that just don’t go away. For a year, I did strenuous exercise for an hour a day and hit all of my fitness trackers goals for 90% of the time. I lost 10 lbs. So, no, obese people don’t “do it to themselves”. I know rail thin people who eat and drink like shit and rarely workout. There’s a lot about the human body no one, especially judgmental twats such as yourself, don’t yet understand. |
| idk the answer to this but i will say I spent 7 hours in the ER today (everything is fine) and 95% of the people who were also there were very fat or obese. |
isn't this what ozempic is for? |
The worst is when they put shredded cheese and gravy on fries and call it poutine. My gosh. The blasphemy. |
Which is also facilitated by maternity/parental leave. Parents can take up yo 18 months before going back to work. |
