Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS)
| I am sure twitter is verifying those GPas are real |
lol maybe you should play detective and verify the GPAs since you’re clearly so bothered by these “kids”. |
The colleges can verify them if they choose to make an offer. A player listing his GPA (and SAT/ACT score) is basically just advertising themselves. There are minimum gpa/test score requirements (for schools that require test scores) and the athlete is just showing recruiters that they meet the requirements |
VHSL has very lax rules and/or enforcement. They let a kid transfer in the middle of the football playoffs a few years ago. |
The coaches recruiting them will so it wouldn't make sense for them to lie. They want to be recruited. Just say your kid was never good enough to play D1. |

Interesting. |
| If the parents are truly relocating students to FFX county and within the boundary for Hayfield, then this should be a non issue. But if that’s not the case, I have zero sympathy for liars or cheaters, and would expect swift action from the admin to remove those kids from FCPS. |
Same. if families are moving to hayfield boundaries to follow this coach- works for me! But if families and the school admins are saying these kids are homeless to skirt the rules- they should all be fired and removed from the school. The rest of us can't just pick a school we want our kids to go to. |
Do you think that in 2024 any admin will question when a kid files something that says they are homeless? I’m very skeptical and that’s seemingly why it works so well. |
federal housing laws will ensure that no admin will touch this with a ten foot pole. |
The school is allowed to ask questions for the purpose of verifying eligibility and coordinating services. If everything is on the up and up, the parents shouldn’t be worried, the students shouldn’t be worried, the coach shouldn’t be worries and the school liaison should have no problem producing receipts. But it not, then sh*t should hit the fan. |
| I assume if a kid is truly homeless- they are getting other services so when these "homeless" kids don't need those services- that gets investigated right? |
Ha, yep, they’ll get right on it! |
So the topic of this post is absolutely correct and no one needs to worry about boundaries any longer I guess. |
| 3 of my kids transferred to Hayfield and I had to basically give some organs to prove my residence status every time (and you have to renew each year) so this is all so fascinating and slightly infuriating to me that I did that but maybe others got away with just saying they live somewhere or nowhere. |
