Its a joke. Boyd wont do anything about it.

Obviously not for the academics.

So not TOO much above the national average of 1050, then

Bringing in all those PWC football players will get that average score down real quick.

There is a racial identity angle here which the school and coaching staff believe will insulate them. As someone who was involved in national level competition, the football culture always disappointed.

Agree, but it's not like HSS lacked minority representation. There's a lot to be miffed about, but what bothers me most is that there are 20+ students, many of whom are either black or brown, who are losing their shot to play ball to a bunch of PWC carpetbaggers. Those kids who live in Hayfield Farms and thereabouts deserve those opportunities through THEIR school.

So does this mean that when the school board rezones, we can just register our kids as homeless next year and kerp them at their current school?

We transferred our kids for academics. We were zoned for an IB school and wanted AP. The average SAT is a reflection of the students taking it not the education offered. All my kids transferred to Hayfield. My oldest got a 1480 but never submitted it and got into UVA. My middle has a 34 ACT. She is a 2026 grad so we will see where she ends up. My youngest has not taken any standardized test yet but is doing just fine academically and probably the smartest of the 3. I like to think I have smart accomplished children and we are happy with the education they got/get at Hayfield. As for this football situation, it is troubling and I worry it will make it harder for our transfer renewals each year.

With all the bad press, I wouldn’t be surprised if FCPS finally reigns in transfers and recruiting among the high schools—this year.

That said, I hope the kids that are legitimately eligible to play have a football season free of controversy.

This is fraudulent interference with homeless services. This coach should be in jail.

+1. How is this not grounds for at least termination?

It’s so trashy. Other schools should refuse to play Hayfield in any sport until the school is cleaned up and Overton is sent packing.

I have a lot of questions about the admin and Boyd as well...it's all very sketchy
