If Biden doesn’t ace the first debate, will he be replaced at the convention?

Arthritis is not a mental disorder nor an indication of heart health.

DP. Correct, PP. Below is a link to Biden's 2024 health summary, which contains a section on his stiff gait (section 6). I can't cut and paste from the report but basically the gait is the result of a past foot injury and degenerative osteoarthritis of the spine. He was prescribed PT and exercise, which he performs 4-5x a week. It is a very detailed health summary--I invite you all to read it. We will never see anything like it from the Trump camp.

It's your choice to believe a statement from the Biden White House. Did you believe every statement issued by the Trump White House?

I look at videos of Biden from 5 years ago and compare to Biden on TV today. I'm not lying to myself. Some of you are. And there's a problem when people try to gaslight the public into believing Biden is just fine. Because he really isn't. He's 81 going on 95. That happens in real life.

I have a stiff gate, too, because of arthritis. I am excellent at my job despite my physical limitations. You are an ableist.

If not wanting my president to be an invalid makes me an ableist…guilty as charged!

Speak for yourself.

She'll be way better than Trump.

Totally. Except she'll lose to Trump in a historic landslide. And she is the only alternative at this moment in time.

At this point, if Trump actually picks a sane and competent VP, people will breathe a sigh of relief and that's it.

There's no chance either Biden or Trump are functional or alive enough to make it to January, 2029. The next VP is where the real power lies.

Ignorance and stupidity is how we roll in modern day American politics. We want a Trump vs Biden rematch. We voted for this.

As president, you can’t just take 6 months off whenever you adopt a kid.

If Trump's VP pick will be a black person, we will have another black president. This is the appeal for majority of his black voters.

FDR was an invalid too for his entire presidency.

He won't pick a black person. It will be Sarah Sanders, JD Vance or someone like them.

He already has two and I’m guessing is done.

But why isn't there a major panic in the R party about Trump, with calls to replace him?

There seems to be a large majority of GOP politicians and voters that stubbornly refuse to acknowledge how awful and weak Trump is as a POTUS candidate in a general election. Instead of seizing the opportunity for a likely victory over an unpopular 81 year old incumbent opponent, the GOP is choosing to nominate an extremely divisive and unfit candidate that will cause more swing voters to vote against their candidate than for him. The GOP will need a big time turnover in leadership and a more welcoming party platform in order to have any chance of winning in 2028 against what is very likely to be a much stronger Dem candidate.

The GOP is growing rapidly under Trump. Hispanics are supporting Trump and he has more African American support of any Republican in modern history. The GOP is now the party of the working class, pro citizen supremacy, anti open borders, anti war… it’s the growth positions. Trump transformed the party and switched places with the democrats in many areas.

The GOP has traded high frequency voters for low frequency voters. That’s why Dems keep over performing in non Presidential elections. They’re losing state govs faster than you can say state governments. And we’ve learned that State governments is where the power resides.

This presidential election is a toss up. If Trump can get these newer voters to the polls, he can win. If Democrats can get the double haters & uncommitted to come home, Biden wins.

FDR had a fully functional and astute brain. His disability was not walking.

Biden has a rapidly declining brain and probably some kind of Alzheimers. The partisans are a DNC bot farm rushed out to forums across the nation to gaslight people that all is fine. The irony of the party that spent years accusing the Trump and the Republicans of "alternative facts" and misinformation and disinformation now being the party desperately using alternative facts and misinformation and disinformation to try to gaslight a skeptical public that Biden is just fine.

If Biden is just fine, then all he has to do is to campaign like a normal presidential candidate. Live interviews, no prescripted questions, warm up the crowds, go everywhere, engage with the people, all the usual campaigning that even HRC was capable of doing and still is. But he can't right? And why not? You tell me.

I hate to say it, but there is zero chance that an openly-gay candidate could be elected president in the current climate.

I don't think it's inconceivable that Biden, if he has a disastrous performance during the debate, could be replaced during the convention--especially if it is clearly age-related.
