Hahahhaha

The reddit MoCo sub has a complete 180 degree take on this. Dcum vs reddit on local issues is so fun to watch.

Having fun!!! While BLACK!!! The horror.

Yeah, that video doesn't look horrible to me. I might worry there are too many people in the pool and that could be dangerous for weak swimmers. Especially if people are drinking or smoking. But in general...seems fine to me.

That’s your only worry watching that video? Seriously?

Yup. It's not my thing and I wouldn't go. But what else is wrong here? Too many people? Maybe? A rich parent held our private school's annual gala at her 10,000 sq ft home up in Darnestown about 10 years ago, and we had that many people. Outside. And a band. And speeches on loudspeakers. And nobody in the neighborhood complained.

Please stop being deliberately obtuse. It’s not cute. I’d wager no one at the gala you describe was twerking and rubbing up against one another.

You dont get to police what happens at a private property event.

No worries; I wouldn't come within a mile of that cesspool.

Then its not your problem. Dont yuck on someone else's yum. We teach our kids this when they start talking down about what someone else likes or wants to do with their time or what they eat or whatever. I would expect adults to understand this by now.

If you lived in this neighborhood you would not want a party like this on your street You want to throw a private party, great. Do it on 20 acres. Parking on someones yard is tacky and disrespectful. I have no issue with a private party but not in a residential neighborhood.

Bullhooey. I’d love to see a party like this in our neighborhood but all of neighbors are old white rich people unfortunately.

Did you know that during golf tournaments, tons of Potomac residents (including those living in the huge mansions along River Rd) rent out their lawns for parking? They'll actually have signs saying "Parking $50".

Who cares about that? Seriously. In this instance, why do you care what other people do? Twerking on someone else's property DOES NOT HURT YOU.

That video depicts behavior, both minor and major, that presents significant risk of harm of serious injury, death and sexual assault to the people in it.

Do you all know what happens at high school parties in these same neighborhoods? I have seen the videos on instagram and snap chat. They are insane and those are minors. But......they are almost all white. So maybe that's the difference?

Weird property history for this house. Bought in September 2022 for $1.85M. Tried to rent it out for $80K/month in October 2023 (one year after purchase, likely so they wouldn't trigger mortgage fraud provisions) and it sat on rental market for 4 months. Put it back on rental market for $28K/month at end of April 2024 and recently pulled the listing.

https://www.redfin.com/MD/Potomac/10724-Stapleford-Hall-Dr-20854/home/10915766#property-history

Then it appears to be listed here for $100K/month as a furnished STR: "Price is correct: property is $100,000 a month and only available for 1-5 months at a time as an STR. Full service, fully furnished all included."

https://www.apartmentlist.com/md/potomac/10724-stapleford-hall-drive

The person listed on VRBO as the "property manager" is also the owner per the Maryland SDAT property records website. It appears they applied for a homestead deduction but were denied by MoCo - "Denied 08/21/2023"

I also found the owner's LinkedIn - they are a real estate agent in the Palisades DC & Bethesda.

Interesting - thanks for taking the time to run that all down and post it, PP.

I wonder how many women are sexually assaulted at Wet Dreams parties. I would guess a good number.

+1

You all should be up in arms about underage drinking. But many parents allow their kids to throw huge parties. There are illegal drugs, dangerous activities and unfortunately sexual assaults.

Yes, so true. They have the worst quality finishes. People that use this company have no taste.

What does race have to do with whether or not a for profit party for over 1000 people in a residential neighborhood that the host doesn't live in is appropriate or not?
