Sweet! You’re gonna pay for my kids private HS? Such a generous offer. We need more people like you!

Yep, will take that poster's offer too. No to religious schools!!!

I’ll take religious schools over your train wreck and many others are too.
We all know you would too.

Why again are you on the "train wreck" forum? Go deal with your abuse cases at your private school.

Keep trying in your desperation. I have a say for public as I pay and live in mont county. You can suck it.

Of course can't believe they pay property taxes and also pay for private school. And wait until their private school kid is roommates with a *gasp* public school kid at the same college.

Because we can pay for private school and choose to. You’re jealous about that.
Colleges are for *gasp* all individuals who completed high school.
You simply don’t care enough about your child to send them in their formative years to a good learning environment.

dp.. if all private school parents are like you I'm glad we decided to keep our DC in public.

Yeah, we alllll believe that. If that’s true, you are irresponsible to keep your child in unsafe schools bc you don’t like parents from private. Okay, you, sure.

Privates are safe? Have friends with kids in private. Where are you sleeping while your private school attending kid is at school?

Yes, privates are generally safer than public. Duh! Have you been living in a cave? Why do you think this thread was started? Look at the title.

Thread was to talk about an incident at a school. No one is interested in hearing from a parent who sends kids to private school. There is another forum for such parents.

Anyone in Montgomery county including empty nesters have a say which is why they can vote tomorrow in the board of elections.

I was where I received no gun notice or fight memo. Where were you?

Wow you are sheltered and clueless.

No, I choose to keep my children in safer environments. Sheltered from guns and fights. Yeah, I’ll pick that.
You’re clueless and irresponsible.

Nah you're the clueless and sheltered one. You have no idea what's going on inside your kid's school.

You think all parents including public school parents sit inside their kids schools? You have a minute by minute report.
Tell us what’s going on inside your kids school beside the fights and gun threats.
Mine can use the bathrooms and not worry about drugs use keeping students from it.

Tell that to my friends whose kid was shot at at Burke…

Tell that to the vastly greater number of public school kids who endured the same.

I don't like private school parents who are smug aholes, that's true. I don't want my kids exposed to private school kids with ahole parents; rubs off on their kids. My kids would have to be around that all day, 5 days, per week for like 9 months.

dp

Yet they still end up in the same colleges as public school students.

DC's friend went to a private school. They ended up at the same college. DC went to a public magnet.

+1 that poster just does not get that

Since kids attend some of the same colleges, parents should not send to private school? That’s what you are saying? When they are minors and have a choice?
You’re dumber than a box of rocks.

you don't understand the line of reasoning, and you're calling PP "dumb as rocks"?

dp.. sure, you can vote the way you want to, but if you're a private school parent, why do you care so much about what happens in the public school? I mean.. when a public school parent goes onto the private school forum, they are told to go away, and are asked, "why are you even on here"?

What happens in public schools doesn't affect your kid. You're just on here to gloat and be smug. Not a good look for you private school parent. Yuck.

May 13, 2024
Dear Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School Families,
I am writing to share information regarding a serious incident involving B-CC. Earlier today, we received a report that a student allegedly had a weapon on campus and had fled the building after being seen with the alleged weapon. School staff, MCPS Safety and Security staff, and MCPD officers immediately began collaborating to identify the student, investigate the incident, and determine appropriate next steps. These next steps included determining appropriate safety measures at B-CC for the remainder of the day and coordinating with our police partners the timing of community notification so as to not impact their immediate and ongoing investigation or responsive actions. B-CC will maintain an increased security presence for the remainder of today out of an abundance of caution.
We are committed to providing a safe school environment for all our students and staff and threats against our school will not be tolerated. The possession of weapons on school grounds is illegal, dangerous, and disruptive to school operations. I encourage all parents to talk with their children about this issue and share that this kind of behavior could be criminal and subject to prosecution by law enforcement.
As a reminder, if you see or hear something, please say something. Please do not hesitate to share anything you believe may be a concern to our school community. Information related to the ANONYMOUS MD Safe Schools Tip Line can be found on the back of every student ID card.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school at 240-740-0400.
Sincerely,
Staten Money
Shelton Mooney, Ed.D.

So that's why there were police cars on EW after 7:40? Why didn't they lock down? Because student allegedly fled building??

Exactly. Go to private school forum and talk about an armed 16 year who walked into a children's service mass in LA. Or the armed one who went to that private school in TN.

No new info but it confirms what was in the principal's letter.

THE PRINCIPAL DID NOT SAY WHAT THE WEAPON WAS. I am outraged that he did not mention it was a gun, and that he's leaving us hanging like this. The BCC listserve is going crazy.
