the annual shares and jeers summer sandal thread

People posting sandals should be required to include their age and favorite store as a point of reference. I’m envisioning lots of Lands End, Eddie Bauer, and Coldwater Creek…

Cute and almost sold out. If my feets weren’t so skinny I’d get them myself. Slides are too wide for me but I love the classic lines and simplicity especially with a nice pedi

Only looked at the threads with pictures posted. So far, I like the silver coily one.

I changed it intentionally because people are sharing, no one cheers, and anyone who posts is opening themselves up to insult and abuse. And yet in previous years I have found these threads actually helpful if I tune out the nasties. I figured for however many people come to insult my taste in sandals, someone will find it helpful - and I'll find someone else's suggestion helpful.

Attractive women can get away with wearing garbage bags (and these shoes), while unattractive women won't.

This! Because grandma, I mean Op, what!!!?

I don't know what to tell you guys - there's a certain kind of ugly/cool old school Dansko sandal look that works for me. The ones I used to live in are so vintage that they're from the generation of sandals before the ones that come up now if you search eBay for vintage Dansko sandals. Back in maybe 2010 Dansko started putting a different sole on the sandals that I hated - hated the look and the feel - and since then they've been doing a whole range of sandals that just don't have that same vibe, feel, or look as the ones I used to love so much.

These are like those old ones - and I love them. Sanita had a different pair last year - still selling them - that came close, and I have them, but these are a real return to the old models that I wore all over the world way back when.

I am OP, I'm 50, and I wear a range.

Lot of Madewell, Everlane, that sort of thing - that's the bulk. A lot of t-shirts from Jungmaven since someone here first introduced them to me. Also get Rachel Comey when I can find it at a reasonable price, wish I could find more. I get sweaters from Quince and sweaters and t-shirts from a Swedish brand called Dedicated. Started getting some sweaters from Toad & Co - I like them! Always searching Thredup, Poshmark, and The Real Real for little treasures, whatever I happen to be in the market for. I like clothes and probably buy too many. If anyone has a rec for a good cotton, linen, or silk petite jumpsuit, please share - I'm looking for one or two for the summer.

So yeah - you would probably have a good picture of what I look like, and these sandals fit it perfectly, even if you hate the whole thing.

To the person who want closed-toe flats to wear with dresses...just. wear. sneakers!!!!! A neutral, low-profile pair.

I’m picturing a lot of Talbots and JJill. I think JJill should have a tagline: JJill: For When You Have Given Up

Are you the OP that started a thread like this last year too -- the one who walks 76265353452362782782 miles a day in sandals?

These posts drive me crazy. I don't dress like that at all, but I have difficult feet and like to walk a lot. So I wear comfort sandals. The sandals that you all think are cute would kill my feet.

Ok? So wear your "comfort sandals"? No one cares. We just don't want to wear ugly shoes. You do you.

For the third year in a row, I’ll be going with Doc Martens. Probably the Voss sandals, and maybe a strap pier pair as well.

My teenage daughter has these. I borrowed them to wear to a concert last summer. Pro: made me taller! Con: extreme blisters and wildly uncomfortable. Completely questioned how I lived in docs during the 80s & 90s.
