He is not that powerful, I hate him as much as the next person, but he gets way too much legitimacy. He's a buffoon, total Morin who can't keep his emotions in check and pushes hate. But that's all he is. He's not the almighty and I'm sick of people who will vote for the joke Biden who looks like he's falling apart to be the leader of this country. No good choices either of them and to suggest not voting for either is somehow voting for one is idiotic. It means there's no vote for either. And it does not automatically go to Trump, it truly does not. And even if Trump should win, so be it. He won once and we all made it. Have some faith that this country isn't made of everyone like him! Have some faith that there are good people everywhere. I'm a liberal who hates everything the GOP wants to do but it's a collective effort. There's a ton of stuff that our government needs to sort out. It's not just Trump and if it is then our system is beyond repair and we need things to really blow up in order to fix it. We are going to get through with Trump winning as painful as it would be but Biden winning is just as much pain I promise. I'm a new poster and I have no problem with someone voting their conscious and as a liberal Dem, it makes me sick to have to listen to this crap about how if you don't love Biden you're going to help end the world it something. That's crazy talk. That's giving Trump the credit he wants.

Please read Project 2025 and understand, this is the GOP blueprint for the future of our Republic. People are not being hyperbolic about what a Trump win in 2024 would mean.

To a person, not a single Republican voter - and I’m talking about the people on here who are looking for any excuse at all to “not vote for Biden,” i.e., vote for Trump - will engage with either Project 2025 directly or indirectly. On some level they understand that a vote for anyone but Biden is essentially a vote for fascism, and they’re okay with that, but they know they’re not supposed to be okay with that. Hence the weak sauce dithering, blaming the Democratic Party for not running someone other than a successful incumbent President, the hemming and hawing and hoping they can just not vote for president and help elect Trump obliquely.

If a GOP gets in the White House, there will be no more impartial judiciary. There will be no more women’s rights. Minorities will lose most of their legal protections (and if you don’t believe that, look at the Roberts’ court’s decisions to date. That dumb cluck gutted the Voting Rights Act on purpose). The government would cease being an apolitical machine and would become the GOP’s machine for enacting their agenda - ending environmental protections, destroying education.

This post is exactly why people don’t take democrats seriously.

Democrats never lose a presidential election- it’s “stolen” every time a democrat presidential candidate loses. They can’t fathom or won’t admit their candidate actually lost. Or they hoped their internal polling was wrong and they are trying to save face.

Democrats always say republicans are going to destroy the country, but really, both parties do their share of destroying the country.

???

the only one that was "stolen" was 2000 when the supreme court intervened in an unprecendented way to stop the counting and install Bush as president. As it turns out, Gore had more votes in Florida and actually won the election.

No, Bush won Florida on every recount. Too bad Gore didn’t win his home state which would have made Florida irrelevant. Now maybe you could say Gore would have won if Dade county hadn’t printed confusing ballots, but all the counters could do is count the votes that were submitted.

Read the Times poll, front page this morning. The reason Biden is losing is because he is not winning in the same groups he won in 2020. Gaza isn’t a secret. Disappointment among Black voters isn’t a secret.

So yell at your candidate. Tell him to apologize to the people he’s failed. Tell him to use the power he has right now to do better. Don’t yell at people refusing to do the same thing again and expect different results.

Only a complete moron would think that Trump is the hero of Gaza and of blacks. But do go on trying to sell that.

Trump doesn’t need to be “the hero” of anything— no one is forced to vote for him. In a close race you need to do more than just keep those groups from voting for your opposition, they can’t stay home or vote third party either.

Which means you need to find a way to say to people “I know we’ve left your family members to die of thirst under rubble, to have cesarean sections without anesthesia and to drink from
puddles but we really need you to vote FOR ME”

And it isn’t likely to work unless we see a significant change in policy which isn’t forthcoming. That’s 100% down to a deliberate choice by Biden.

Those who won't vote....you are handing your future to those who don't care.
9 people get in a bus.
3 vite to drive off a cliff.
2 vote to get ice cream.
4 dint vote.

Guess off the cliff you go while you complain the ice cream wasn't from your preferred creamery so how could you ever vote for that.

Really remarkable if someone couldn’t even convince voters to vote to get ice cream.

You really believe candidates have no responsibility.

Oh yes, let's all die because the ice cream isn't organic.

What state is trump going to take that did not want him last time around? Name a single one where he has gained and not lost votes.

Great! You've got it all sewn up then. No need to start 50 zillion threads on the same topic.

But what state is going a different way than 2020?

Michigan

Biden may lose a few arab votes, but the UAW vote will come out in force for him.

Exactly.

Michigan has like, what, 100 arab people in Detroit?

Meanwhile, the UAW employs tens of millions in Michigan, Ohio, NY, etc and they will have their workers vote Biden/Harris. Gaza doesn’t matter.

Again, your candidate can’t even get people to vote for ice cream.

Why do you think scolding people on the internet is of greater use than telling your candidate to pivot on the policies he has chosen over being elected?

His margins in 2020 were significantly lower than the Arab voters margin now. So unless he’s picked up votes from Trump in Michigan since 2020, which there is no evidence of, he’s not going to win there.

Because then we all suffer because of your childish self-centeredness. No candidate is going to give you 100% of what you want. That just will not happen. And if you think driving off a cliff is a better alternative than to having a non-preferred ice cream choice then there's really nothing more to say here. You are the exact reason why we are where we are.

No more octogenarian candidates, no more funneling billions into a foreign apartheid state actively engaging in ethnic cleansing, no more taking the American voters for granted. I will not be held hostage by the Democratic Party simply because Trump is the alternative.

There is no "wake up call" to be had by voting for 3rd parties. The US is democratic republic with a strong executive branch. We are not a parliamentary system that rewards smaller parties with power.

In a winner-take-all system like the U.S., 2nd place is the first loser. 3rd parties are simply....distractions?

In a winner-take-all system, game theory would tell you to vote for one of the two major candidates that you dislike the least. That's the vote that will maximize your chances for 4 years of acceptable outcomes.

3rd parties do not structurally work in the United States under our Constitution. It is inherently biased toward two big tent parties. If you look back in US history a new major political party emerges ONLY when one of the two existing major parties collapses from within and dissolves.

I’m tired of the powerful pro-Israel lobby (AIPAC) dictating our internal politics. As long as Biden continues to bend to their demands, I’m sitting this one out. Biden has blood on his hands and I cannot vote for someone like that.

If the difference in choice is that stark and that obvious, and what your candidate is offering is so good, why is it so hard to convince people to vote your way?

Maybe the choice isn't quite as obvious as you think. Maybe your chosen option doesn't smell like ice cream at all. Ever considered that?

Maybe your party keeps promising ice cream and not delivering, while allowing the cliff people to throw a few of us off every now and then, to the point that we really see no reason to keep listening to the ice cream liars?

Your metaphor is dumb.

Your guy isn't offering ice cream. He's telling us it's ice cream. Really he's trying to knock us all out, while they also push us over a cliff. Both of these parties want us over that cliff. I'm getting out the damn van and looking for another ride, and you're screaming at me to take the fake ice cream because we have no choice.

+1 they don’t believe you or care. I believe you and I feel the same. I think a lot of people do.

Trump will not be getting the pro palestine vote. You can't be serious.

How is this a question? The only other alternative is Trump.

I cannot and will not vote for Biden because of his open border disaster policies that are flooding the country with millions of unvetted migrants. The UGA student murder made me sick.
