People who would not vote for Biden, what is your alternative?

There is no "wake up call" to be had by voting for 3rd parties. The US is democratic republic with a strong executive branch. We are not a parliamentary system that rewards smaller parties with power.

In a winner-take-all system like the U.S., 2nd place is the first loser. 3rd parties are simply....distractions?

In a winner-take-all system, game theory would tell you to vote for one of the two major candidates that you dislike the least. That's the vote that will maximize your chances for 4 years of acceptable outcomes.

3rd parties do not structurally work in the United States under our Constitution. It is inherently biased toward two big tent parties. If you look back in US history a new major political party emerges ONLY when one of the two existing major parties collapses from within and dissolves.

And the status quo will be the status quo until it's not. You don't get something different by doing the same. If both of these parties suck, and their candidates suck, and their governing outcomes suck, why do we keep giving them our votes? Why would anything change so long as we do?

Only one party sucks and all the non-voters are tacitly supporting it. May women have no rights, may Black people become re-enslaved and may we expel all the Muslims and people of Latin descent! Here’s to the GOP reich!

OP, you are whistling at the Leopards Eating Faces Party who will have the most to lose when Trump wins in November.

It's not our job to get candidates elected. It's their job to appeal to the most people and get themselves elected. I'm not going to vote for a shitty candidate, giving them a perceived mandate to do things I disagree with.

You want votes? Put up a decent candidate.

It is your job to keep someone as destructive to the country as Trump out of office.

This isn’t Bush vs Gore or McCain vs Obama.

+1. This is obvious. These "I can't vote for either " are trump supporters regarding they want to be or not.

They are just trying to own the libs. This topic seems to come up as a “new” thread almost every week.

I plan on writing in Nikki Haley.

You’re just saying that because you’re a Biden supporter and think your guy somehow deserves the “neither” vote. Newsflash: he doesn’t. And Trump voters think the same way about their guy.

I disagree. My job is to evaluate the candidates and choose the one whose policies I think are best for myself and for the country. Neither Republicans nor Democrats have put forward that candidate, and they will not be getting my vote.

You all have been voting for the lesser of two evils for generations. All it's gotten us is more evil. No thanks.

Lala land. One of the other will be president as always. 90 percent of elections are choosing the least destructive choice. Go ahead and sit it out but you rant against this reality will not change reality.

And these two candidates are vastly different. If you can't see that and choose you have very poor analytical abilities.

That is fine. Just understand that she won't win. If you would not vote in any case, then whatever. Writing her in it not has the same effect.

If you were a trump voter than that write in helps biden. If you were a Biden voter, that write in helps trump.

And unless you are in a swing state, it won't matter much.

Thank God.

Every post that says "I am writing in Mahatma Ghandi because I believe in PEACE!" should be automatically rewritten to read "I am voting for Trump because I am too stupid to realize I am voting for Trump." Because of course anyone who votes for Trump is, by definition, stupid.

Let's just pray they all live in DC or California.

This x 10000. There will be no wake up calls and no changes. The system isn’t built for it.

It can only collapse from within.

This is true. I think Americans are getting tired of the two party system and feel it doesn’t represent them… but there is no way out. Whether you don’t vote, or you write in a third party, you are still in actuality voting for one of the two candidates.

Same here. I know she won't win, but there is no way I'll vote for either Trump or Biden.

Psst: the OP was obviously a liberal, itching to lecture everyone about who to vote for. As usual.

I guess you haven't noticed that the GOP in the House have signed on to a national abortion ban, a national IVF ban...I mean, I guess you don't care about women at all? But the post isn't idiotic.

I regret voting for Joe Biden. I really don’t care at this point if that means Trump comes back. They are two sides of the same coin. Biden caters to the highest bidder. Our system is corrupt and hypocritical.
