Is April 10 a school holiday?

I think celebrating lunar new year as a holiday is the right thing to do.

It’s only right that lunar new year has the same treatment. It’s a huge day observed by a lot of Asian students.

Anonymous wrote:That’s a good question - why is lunar new year excluded?

Anonymous wrote:Asians don’t stand up for themselves. Need more advocacy. Shame that lunar new year is not observed.

Anonymous wrote:Why don’t we get lunar new year as a holiday? Wait it’s an Asian holiday, just another way Asians are discriminated

Anonymous wrote:Schools are closed for Eid on April 10.

I don’t know much about lunar new year observance. Do kids and teachers usually have to decide between missing school and missing celebrating? Because that’s where the decision to close comes from, large numbers of absences.

Apparently kids only stay home for Rosh Hashanah, Diwali, and Eid as those are the only explicitly religious holidays on the calendar.
