Only that they are desperately hoping to pickup some talent from FCV to save them from a disastrous first season in GA.

Their parents are the dog that caught the car. One of two things will happen- either FCV girls will come over and their girls will get demoted or cut or FCV girls won't come over and their girls will spend next year getting humiliated in every game

Demoted is a stretch. Most VRSC parents know their kid isn't good enough to make GA, many didn't know what GA was 2 weeks ago. Those who don't know and end up making the team are in for a frustrating fall.

Literally 🤣🤣🤣

the fact that people aren't talking much about VRSC is a sign that things are not going well.
Compare a VRSC GA tryout to an SYC one.

This sums it up rather succinctly. The success, or lack thereof, in the GA for at least next year hinges almost entirely on the ability of the FCV coaches who are now at Revolution to convince as many of their former players as possible to move over there. Fortune may have just smiled on them with the announcement of Fairfax Virginia Union because a decent number of former ECNL players will be looking for new homes when that dust settles. Failing that, their next best option is some combination of FCV United team players and/or players from other clubs RL teams, etc. If none of that works out and they have to field a GA team comprised mostly of their own existing players, it’s going be a tough year next year. But there are plenty of players and parents chasing an ECNL or GA badge so I can’t see the worst case coming to fruition.

It is amazing how nasty some of you on here can be. You not only bash the club but you bash the players. You are so sure FCV, SYC, etc. are the only ones with talent on their girls teams or even their boys teams. I hope the girls at VRSC come out and show all of you something. They may not win every game but there may be a few of them on the pitch that have some true talent that shines through.

To come on here and bash girls who want to play and are looking for a team and coaches to play for is just shameful. Everyone here should be supporting the soccer community and not be so ready to bash each other. So what some of FCV coaches left and went to VRSC, from what I have seen in the soccer world around Loudoun coaches move clubs a lot.

Before you all start popping off that I might work for VRSC, I don't! Nor am I a parent of a girl trying out for GA at VRSC, nor do I even have a daughter that plays there.

I'm afraid that the EDP South Atlantic standings don't support that theory:

U13: no team
U14: no team
U15: last place (10 games played, 0 wins, 9 losses, 1 draw, 2 GF and 28 GA)
U16: last place (6 games played, 0 wins, 6 losses, 0 GF and 22 GA)
U17: 5th place (7 games played, 2 wins, 4 losses, 1 draw, 11 GF and 16 GA)
U18/19: no team

No one is bashing girls who just want to play soccer. They're bashing the Revolution leadership and coaches because to date, they have done nothing to develop the players who play for them. The fact that all the GA could cite as justification for their acceptance was "a vision" and "infrastructure" should tell you a lot.

And hiring those FCV coaches was probably the best thing they've ever done! They have a proven track record of making their players better and building strong teams. If their egomanic of a TD will keep his hands off it, I expect that those guys could grow the club into something quite respectable in time. But for the immediate future, they are 100% hoping to convince players that they developed at FCV to come over and become the new Revolution GA teams. And that's understandable on their part because you don't have to be a soccer coach to look at those EDP stats above and know how much worse that will be vs the level of competition in the GA if they field teams comprised primarily of existing Revolution players. That's not me being mean, that's just the truth.

It's a good thing that you don't work for VRSC or have a child trying out there or already playing there because unless they get those outside players, it's going to be a very rough first season in the GA.

When will the GA rosters settle? VRSC and SYC both have already held multiple ID sessions and FCV is holding theirs Monday and Tuesday, but ECNL doesn’t start until March. When will the game of musical chairs end?

Most will wait to see if they get ECNL offers first before committing to GA teams as a last resort so probably not until mid to late march.

Points all very well taken. New coaches will have work to do. VRSC has only been around since 2018 and it did not start will girls so that program is still growing.

I will also say it is obvious you are not a fan of the TD, I am sure that does not play into any of your opinions of the club. lol!

Best of luck to VRSC and their new GA teams as well as all the other clubs.

No, I am not. And if you knew some of the things that I know, I doubt you would be, either. But since you don't work there and don't have a child trying out there or playing there, then consider yourself fortunate and blissfully ignorant of him.

No one is sharing any stories or insight of their TD. Several posts call out his ego, but no one is giving stories. Let’s hear that.

I said I don't work there and I don't have a daughter there. We have looked there for our son. Our son is looking to make a change and we have watched a few practices and games for his age group there. Also, looking here to get insight for potential clubs.

Anonymous wrote:VRSC is full of kids who couldn't make 2nd or 3rd teams at more established Loudoun soccer that is 10 min away. Coaching is questionable and not stable. I don't think any skilled coaches want to work for Nico. Owner has a lot of money though and the bar IS nice but factor that into your club fees which are expensive for NCSL or EDP bottom brackets.

Ha, Loudoun is "more established" because its been around 30+ years but a terrible program. Our coach is 1000% better than the Loudoun Soccer one which is a big reason why we left in the first place. My son's current team could easily handle their RL team (have not seen the ECNL team so won't make that claim). Whatever BS you are spewing about VRSC is absolutely wrong. Better training, facilities, and coaching at VRSC hands down over LS. LS only cares about their ECNL teams and its starting to show big time. We were don't with their crap and much happier in VR's program and didn't want to travel super far.
PP - Don't get it twisted, LS has also lost some really great coaches so that argument is DOA.

Arlington tournament, at least one VRSC gold team will be playing Loudoun ECNL-R.
