VRSC

Seems a lot of folks are making out VRSC to be the bad guys when in all reality it was STJs lack of planning, and general disinterest in securing the long-term viability of the GA program in Loudoun county by not securing field space. If they didn't intend to sell the GA or partner with another, then perhaps the money they invested in the failed Reston location should've been used to secure field space. Can't blame VRSC for making a power move and not renewing the field lease as TSJ should've seen that coming the day they did it to Barca Academy.

I don't see anybody making Revolution out to be the bad guy for hiring Christian or any of the other FCV coaches. They desperately needed somebody like CC to move beyond what is essentially a glorified rec program today. I absolutely agree with you that TSJ is ultimately to blame. They should have recognized long ago that field space was likely to become a problem in Loudoun County but the moment Evergreen was sold, alarm bells should have been ringing. I certainly don't know what options they did or did not explore but there are only so many possibilities. If it wasn't really a priority for them, then they probably should have just put FCV up for sale. I'm sure there would have been more than one club interested but none more so than Revolution because acquiring FCV would have (and may still be) their gateway to a platform that they were a decade or more away from ever getting on their own.

Shout out to Barca Academy. Best thing to happen to my son and daughter before VRSC and their money bought the sportsplex.

Not a fan of the Revolution program itself but while the Sportsplex was always a nice facility, they have improved it since the purchase. Paving and lighting the back parking lot was long overdue as were new turf and improvements to the pavilion. As far as facilities go, I can't say anything negative about the Sportsplex. If a better club had purchased it, Loudoun Soccer would be facing a much more serious threat.

Appears they knew the long game in hindsight.

VRSC is also getting MLS Next so they're clearly the best!

there is definitely a need for another great team in NOVA for boys. In this case the boys will come.

I guess Loudoun turned down MLS Next. Allegedly it was offered to them initially.

This happened last year. ECNL told LS if they accept MLS Next then they would have to drop ECNL. Hence NVA was established 2023. NVA is a way LS believes they can have both ECNL and MLS Next. Not sure this will work out for them... We'll see.

Would it matter if this NVA is an alliance of multiple clubs? Can LS get MLS Next inhouse with the boys only?

It worked for SYC. Not exactly the same, but they got MLS Next while in an alliuance with Mclean

Only that they are desperately hoping to pickup some talent from FCV to save them from a disastrous first season in GA.
