VRSC

The fact that all the GA could cite as justification for their acceptance was "a vision" and "infrastructure" should tell you a lot.

And hiring those FCV coaches was probably the best thing they've ever done! They have a proven track record of making their players better and building strong teams. If their egomanic of a TD will keep his hands off it, I expect that those guys could grow the club into something quite respectable in time. But for the immediate future, they are 100% hoping to convince players that they developed at FCV to come over and become the new Revolution GA teams.

Points all very well taken. New coaches will have work to do. VRSC has only been around since 2018 and it did not start will girls so that program is still growing.

I will also say it is obvious you are not a fan of the TD, I am sure that does not play into any of your opinions of the club. lol!

Best of luck to VRSC and their new GA teams as well as all the other clubs.
hi TD of vrsc. Good luck in loudoun and kudos on the power move that changed the landscape of nova futbol.
Fcv turns back into a frog and the game plays on. My thoughts are GA got pissed that fcv didn’t come through w a promised ffx facility… enter vrsc

Most will wait to see if they get ECNL offers first before committing to GA teams as a last resort so probably not until mid to late march.
but those ga teams like vrsc are asking for firm commitments early.

Va is a mess

GA and ECNL player cards are regulated by different governing bodies. You can register for a GA team and then back out and play ECNL without having to worry about the GA team holding the player card

Why worry about bridges being burnt, NOVA soccer will build new bridges next season

When you search Rev's TD and the first page contains news articles of him taking money from homeowners and not coming through with the product, and then not refunding until after said news article comes out, that's a red flag. And he's one of the primary people at the top of this organization? CC might be a solid coach or knows what he's doing but how has Rev shown they're any different from FCV other than they've paved the back lot and they built a bar and concessions?

They may end up becoming a great organization. But I personally wouldn't want to be the guinea pig in all of this.

No one is suggesting families will choose VR over FCV because of a paved lot or rooftop bar, but they absolutely will do so in part because that lot and bar are connected to fields that VR controls where known and proven GA coaches will coach. Still waiting for FCV to say where they will play next season and who will coach most of the GA teams. Locking down those fields and recruiting MJ and then CC is exactly the kind of foresight TSJ has lacked.

I agree with you that TSJ lacked the foresight and did not plan well in regards to locking down a home field in Loudoun as well as locking down their staff. But I also believe that 4 years ago when the DA fell apart, parents had other thoughts about their staff.

There are so many GA and ECNL clubs now that players can freely pour gasoline on bridges. GA clubs should expect it when they have tryouts so far in advance of teams that people want to play for

Don’t you have to pay when you commit though? Burning bridges is one thing but if it also costs thousands that’s different.

VR needs to get creative. For each GA team, make the deposit refundable if they don’t get at least [10] FCV GA players to commit by [3/1]. One they reach that threshold, the deposit is nonrefundable. FCV GA girls don’t want to commit unless and until they know VR has a critical mass of FCV GA players, so VR needs to create a risk-free path for that critical mass of FCV GA players to commit.

The short commit deadline is waived for FCV GA players. VRSC will gladly take them at any time even if it means bumping an already committed RL player down to the second team, or more likely, to a nice comfortable spot on the bench

If this is true, VR is giving those FCV GA players too much flexibility. This will encourage them to keep looking until they find a better spot, and the top players definitely will. When they do and leave VR for free, other players do likewise and it all unravels for VR. Rather than give out free options, they should provide downside protection only until they hit some critical mass of good players.
