Simple solution is just to make it illegal for Dems to own guns since they are responsible for 95%+ of all gun crime. I'm putting on my Sig P365 right now to go to lunch. I won't be a victim of a Democrat today.

While satire also -- this is true.

This is not satire - this is delusional propaganda …

From 2015 to 2022, cities in blues states saw an average gun homicide rate of 7.23 per 100,000 residents. In red-states cities, that rate was 11.1 per 100,000 residents—53 percent higher than the rate in blue-state cities.Oct 16, 2023

Cities in Blue States Experiencing Larger Declines in Gun Violence in 2023

Red state cities have a higher population of Black people.

The type of people that are involved in gangs or crime-related gun violence are not the type of people that vote, no matter where they live.

Can you explain why criminals that steal guns, kill people with guns, and their voting record is relevant to this thread?

Lol @ all the gun nut jobs.

Just remember, in a civilized country like Japan, they have a violent crime rate involving guns that is 1000x lower than the US.

There are no excuses for it or explaining it away. The US is a violent, gun and crime infested crap hole. Yeah, the US might not be as bad as Venezuela, lol. Big whoop. No one wants to be compared to the lowest of the low countries on the planet but wants to be compared to the best of the best. The US is a disaster in terms of violent crime ivovling guns compared to countries like Japan.

They way you do it is to begin drying up the supply of criminal guns - Massive crackdown on straw buyers and problem gun sellers.

Bring some actual responsibility and accountability to the "responsible gun owner" mythology:
Require mandatory check EVERY TIME a gun is transferred, even private, with serial number et cetera stored in a searchable database. That way, when a gun is recovered connected with a crime, the last known owner gets charged with, at a minimum, involuntary manslaughter. Responsible gun owners should know where their guns are and keep them locked in a safe, and if they get stolen, report it immediately.

And include psychiatric profile, history domestic violence or anger management, et cetera. And serious consequences for not complying.

That will eliminate all of the loosey-goosey gun transfer crap and make it harder for criminals to get guns.

Criminals remove serial numbers from handguns.

Nothing. Nothing can be done.

The Supreme Court and Congress have enshrined gun rights to a degree where meaningful reform is not possible.

I don’t understand how people don’t get that. The only way things change are maybe in like 40 years when young people are in charge. This new generation are not fans. Even then that’s all speculative. Move to Japan if you want to feel totally safe walking around at night.

Dems are responsible for 95% of all gun crime? Do you have stats to back that up? I wasn't aware that the authorities collect information on the political affiliation of victims of gun crime.

Check voting record for each mass shooter.

The Constitution is clear on our right to own guns.

Anonymous wrote:I support gun control 100%, I hate guns. I wish we could get rid of all of them. Every other country that passed landmark gun ban legislation after a massacre seems to have started at a much lower baseline of guns in circulation. Even if we repealed the 2nd amendment tomorrow and banned every single type of firearm besides maybe single shot hunting rifles, how long would it take to confiscate and destroy all 430 million guns? Decades? And we have probably 20% of the country being adamantly opposed to any kind of gun ban... they won't comply. Are we completely stuck? It's depressing.

americans buy on average 30 million firearms a year, 475 million has been sold in the last 20 years.

https://www.fbi.gov/file-repository/nics_firearm_checks_-_month_year.pdf/view

firearms sales have tripled from 10 million a year in 1999 to close to 30 million a year today.

Today, every single year, american buy somewhere around ~20-22 million handguns and 8-10 million long guns rifles/shoguns. by comparison, all US police, federal law enforcement and military procures under 100,000 long guns a year. The world's military/police forces on a good year procures ~300-400k long guns a year. The american civilian procures more long guns than the entire police/military of the planet by somewhere close to 15-20 to 1.

With the advent of 3d printing, it is getting easier and easier to manufacture firearms from your basement.

Threats to ban so called "assault weapons" have only led to skyrocketing sales, as america household stockpile of arms begins to even dwarf that of the soviet stockpile during the coldwar readied for a mainland invasion of europe.

CIA estimates back in the 90s that the soviet old coldwar stockpile of AK/RPKs/SKS during the coldwar was about 50-75 million, maybe 2/3 still functional

American in the last 20 years have stockpilled somewhere close to 60-80 million semi auto rifles. american civilian arsenal is starting to dwarf that of the soviet stockpiles

Even if it’s not effective we should still ban all of them and go door to door confiscating them. At least a bunch of gun nutter republicans magas would get slaughtered in the process and that makes it worth doing even if it doesn’t reduce crime much.

Guns make me embarrassed to admit I’m an American when I’m meeting international people all over the world doing business trips. I’m so ashamed. It’s the first thing strangers ask me about when we meet. “What about all the guns?” I’ve probably been asked this same question 200 times.

The only thing you have the ability to slaughter is your own unborn baby.
