You forgot to add “that make it far easier and more efficient to do those things than other inanimate objects.” |
I think if we gave law enforcement better tools it would help tremendously. For example, a persistent, searchable database that could be used to track and trace, and figure out how criminals are getting guns, toward eliminating the massive underground black market for guns being used in crimes. But the GOP opposes that, because their NRA handlers don't want to curb gun sales, so they've ginned up fake excuses why not, around things like "muh freedom" - begging the question, "FREEDOM TO DO WHAT?" |
And that they are one of the very very very few inanimate objects on the market that was explicitly designed for the purpose of efficiently taking lives. |
Everyone already knows who the problem gun dealers are, just need to arrest and convict - https://gunviolence.issuelab.org/resources/30185/30185.pdf |
Like #3. I'd add criminal penalties for improper storage. Plus an involuntary manslaughter charge if a gun you own is used by a third party to kill someone. I support the right of people to own guns (though I think it's silly in most cases), but if you own a gun you should be held 100% responsible for it. |
Satire fail. I doubt the founding fathers anticipated the level of crazy rampant now or that gun ownership would be weaponized as a hollow symbol of freedom. The trouble is people who are not fit to own guns leave guns lying around and have enabled countless school shootings. Criminal networks have unregistered guns and violent crime is rising . The founding fathers never ruled out sensible gun controls. They did not anticipate modern life would give rise to so much untreated mental illness and social disconnection. Further there were armed militias threatening civilians at the time. Now we have police, military and armed forces to protect civilians. |
"Organize" "Encourage" "Engage" all sounds pretty namby-pamby. Good question as to why neither federal, state or local LEOs are going after these bad dealers. Why aren't the problem gun dealers being sued out of existence? And even then, what's to stop another bad gun dealer from just popping up again? Maybe the laws need to be updated to hold these types of gun dealers accountable as accessories to murder? |
I notice that many of those problem gun shops are in deep red areas. Right wing LEOs probably don't want to crack down on them because that's where they buy their untraceable AR-15s for their delusional weekend militia cosplay. |
Simple solution is just to make it illegal for Dems to own guns since they are responsible for 95%+ of all gun crime. I'm putting on my Sig P365 right now to go to lunch. I won't be a victim of a Democrat today. |
I'm a supporter of 2A rights. Have been a gun owner, though am not currently. So sick of responses like this--totally counterproductive and mean-spirited. Not the way my father or grandfathers (all hunters, all gun people) handled their business. |
Elect a veto, proof Democrat House and Senate and president and make sure none owe anything to the NRA. The GOP doesn't give two hoots in Hell how many children are murdered. Any legislation outlawing assault type weapons must be written in such a way that the moronic six on the Supreme Court will not overturn. |
Absolutely deranged and false. |
You are a prime example of a person with mental health problems who should not be able to own a fire arm. In your case, kitchen knives should also be withheld and your food cut up like a child. As you might also try to use your vehicle as a weapon then your driver's license should be taken away. . I hope there is someone who cares enough about you to get you back in your padded cell! |
So we should get rid of guns and shooting sports because you find them boring. Hunting with rifle and bow both require skill, but yes bow hunting requires more skill. An AR-15 is a perfectly acceptable home defense weapon, as are shotguns and handguns. So yes we should all bow to your whims ![]() |
There is no such thing as a gun shop that sells “untraceable AR-15s.” Tell us you know nothing about guns, without telling us you know nothing about guns, PP. |
