You really don’t get it do you? This is a forum for parents. No one is derailing anything. We’re critiquing the show. It’s the type of show that I’d otherwise watch with my 16 year old, but I can’t because of the stupid, unnecessary sex scenes. We can, however, watch the Gilded Age or Prime Suspect. On top of that the sex scenes add nothing. In White Lotus, the sex scenes were graphic, but totally necessary to propel the story forward. Here they seem to be thrown in just cuz. And that’s what makes them bad. It’s not too racy. It’s poorly done. |
This was never a show for 16 year olds. Even if it was completely sex free it’s not for 16 year olds. It’s a graphic murder show, has been every season. Calm down, Colin Robinson. |
I totally disagree, but either way, the sex scenes are poorly done and add nothing to the plot. |
|
NP. To the one person who is obsessing over sex scenes: please stop derailing the thread so the rest of us can talk about the actual plot. Your silly outrage is noted. No one else cares.
Question - I had thought Peter Prior was Jodie Foster’s son and that his father was her ex? Now I see she is no relation to Peter at all. Was Leah’s dad her ex-husband? And did he die in the car crash that was briefly mentioned? And JF had a young son who also died? Trying to piece together all the relationships. |
| I just saw a Max ad on FB for the show. It showed clips from all seasons and included a scene with the spiral symbol on an evidence wall from an earlier season. What's the connection?? |
| I am confused about the frozen guy who moaned when his hand snapped off. Is he the person referred to as being in a medical coma? If so, how it is possible that he could be alive? |
Yes, me too. Was that a dream? Because it was never referred to again |
| He's in a medically induced coma and presumably still is. I think he's alive the same way "Dead Travis" is actually alive -- think back to the scene with the science teacher explaining Tsalal's work with microorganisms. I think they have some kind of regenerative property. That's got to be tied to Dead Travis, the frozen guy, and maybe Clark's seizures. |
Oh wow so Zombie vibes. I was thinking all of those were spirit apparitions. |
I don't think it's going to be as far-fetched/sci-fi-y as that. I think Dead Travis is just plain 'ole dead. The (triggering) trooper found his body a while back. Screaming guy is alive and in a coma at the hospital. Clark was/is suffering from mental/physical issues, more likely from the artic darkness/lover dying than some prehistoric microorganisms. |
| ^and presumably Clark was the one sneaking around when the delivery guy was there |
I never saw any indication Prior Sr was her ex. Prior jr mentions having babysat for Leah when she was younger, so presumably the two families have known each other for a long time. And yes it seems she is stepmom to Leah, whose father it is implied died in a car accident. Presumably the little boy was JF’s son, or perhaps stepson, as well. Clearly they had a strong bond, as seen in the flashback. |
|
Dead Travis is dead and is Matthew McConaughey‘s character in season 1’s father.
The swirly symbol is from previous seasons. JF is not related to the two male cops. The younger babysat her daughter when he was younger (he mentioned it at the end of the episode). The relationship b/w Liz and Leah hasn’t been clarified. |
I'm guessing she is her step-mom. |
| It’s entertaining, but I think the plot is all over the place and messy. I’m not digging the supernatural elements at all. |
