Prior jr mentions having babysat for Leah when she was younger, so presumably the two families have known each other for a long time. And yes it seems she is stepmom to Leah, whose father it is implied died in a car accident. Presumably the little boy was JF’s son, or perhaps stepson, as well. Clearly they had a strong bond, as seen in the flashback.[/quote]
