Nobody is going to look at your crappy blog because you dredged up an old post here.

You can bake cakes/cupcakes that are more "healthy" by using honey/syrup instead of processed sugar, include fruits and seeds if you like, can use coconut oil instead of butter, etc. you can also make cookies this way.

But why is it that the kids only like to talk at dessert? Maybe cuz they're full? Try some yummy tea like cinnamon and apple. Maybe they just like talking bc their blood sugar has elevated from the dinner, not necessarily bc dessert. IMO it's not really a good habit to have dessert every day.

Trust that your child’s health benefits far more from the laughter, bond and memories of spending time with mama eating a dessert than dyes or corn syrup will harm. Eat the gummy bears and enjoy.

My DH fondest memory (in his entire life!) is walking home from preschool every day with his mama eating a full-sugar, red-dye, gas station atrocity popsicle.

The chemicals were different back then tho...

Well, I appreciate seeing this thread! Maybe we will do (homemade) desserts more often. If not every night, at least every weekend. I want my kids to get used to making and eating stuff at home as much as possible.

I made this for Christmas as a healthier dessert option and it was unexpectedly delicious. Several people asked for the recipe.
