Some people are uncomfortable with happy kids. Friends who have sent kids there say they loved their experience and everyone employed or in graduate school. I like how they really prepare kids for employment. The reality is most people are needing to work after college and snobby set dismisses
this. Different strokes. |
Talking past each other. Both are right. |

Up and coming schools ...
Universities: U of Denver, Santa Clara, Northeastern, Pitt, U of Iowa LACs: Lewis&Clark, Wooster, Grinnell, Harvey Mudd, Willamette |
What is this list 🤣 |
Harvey Mudd Grinnell Northeastern These 3 are not up and coming. They are all well regarded (some people don’t think NE deserves it though). |
| Towson and Mason are highly sought after for Dance majors. I realize that is a small and niche major, but I am putting it out there as to why there are some oos applicants to these schools. |
Food is not good at UMD either |
Great schools on that list. Why are you laughing? |
NP. Assuming because it's supposed to be an "up and coming" list. NEU, Grinnell, Pitt and Mudd have been on radars for some time now. |
Whats your issue? Doesn't seem to have bothered my kid who has put on 17 pounds since the start of the school year. |
I was really impressed with Wooster when we visited. Wasn't really on our radar, but we toured because we were in the area looking at other schools. It actually moved up on the list for my kid. Not sure why it isn't more widely know. |
| People who are impressed with places like Wooster and Lawrence and Muhlenberg do not have experience with top 10-15 LACs. They are fine schools but they just do not provide the same experience. |
I've never seen people suggest these schools instead of the top 10-15 LACs. For high stats students, they could be safeties. For students who like the top SLACs but don't have the stats, these might be more likely options. |
