This is pretty sick.

You know what’s really sick? This evangelical military couple with a passel of sons who stole an Afghan baby whose parents were killed in the war.

Is there an update on this case? Has the child been returned to the Afghani couple?

How would they be returned if their parents were killed in war?

But there was still family who wanted this child but the Bible bangers stole her.

That child was already being loved, cared for and adopted by her cousins when the American couple tricked them into coming into the US, trafficked her, lied to the federal government and literally stole her from her mother’s arms in a car outside of Dulles airport. It’s disgusting

It really depends on the circumstances and as an adoptee who knew my (paranoid schizophrenic since 19 years old) birth mom, I am ever so thankful to be adopted and to be officially adopted, not some bs guardianship as a PP proposed.

Unless you are adopted, just stop talking, you don't understand.

I have every right to say what I think about adoption. It is an evil practice. If the birth mother cannot care for her child then someone in her family should be named as guardian or, if known the father of the child or member of his family.

Oh yes it's always that simple and easy with a ready and willing and able family member to step in. Wow are you out of touch with reality.

And if the birth father is dead or also unable to take a child and the family doesn't want the child? Or are unable?

Reality is different than the delusional fantasy world in which you live.

Can we just agree the goal should be to enable women to control their fertility so there are no unwanted children?

Yes.

But for some reason, lots of conservative Catholics and evangelicals want there to be a lot of unwanted traumatized children. I don't understand it, but it's where we are as a country right now.

As an adoptee who was very much wanted by my wonderful (adoptive) parents, STFU.

+1 not an adoptee but pp is being incredibly offensive to all adoptees. They are wanted children.

No, they don't. Any more that you want piles of dead babies. These are painful issues and reducing it to "want there to be a lot of unwanted traumatized children" is intellectually and emotionally dishonest.

They weren’t wanted to the ones that birthed them. I’m sorry it’s offensive, but gestating another human is extremely difficult and deadly work. No one willingly goes through it just to joyfully hand their child over at the end. It’s a primal trauma.

The fact that adoptive parents very want a child doesn’t change the fact that the child’s birth or later separation from their birth parents is an inherently traumatic and painful act from which some women never recover. It’s a joy built on profound sorrow. There should no thing as newborn baby adoptions outside of planned surrogacy arrangements- end of story.

You live in a Pollyanna world if you think this is always possible. Should the child be handed off to a rapist father? We should absolutely keep the primary goal of foster care family reunification *and* our country needs to do way more to help poor parents who want to keep their kids but feel they can’t for financial reasons. But there will always be a need for adoption.

You are delusional about the reality of situations that occur.

What situations are you referring to? Do you think sluts pop out babies and hand them over for sport?

I have no problem with foster adoptions, by the way. But newborn adoptions should not exist. Period.

I started to write the circumstances of my own adoption along with the circumstances of my siblings adoptions, but then realized I'm justifying myself to a very clear troll.

It sounds like you are saying that all biological parents in the US should be prevented from terminating their parental obligations and therefore forced by the state to raise their children. Is that right?

Yes they are saying that and also implied earlier that if they can't/won't, their biological family should be forced by the state to take the child.

I'm a pro-choice adoptee, and find this person off the charts ridiculous.
