Psychologist recommends bathroom time out as punishment. Thoughts?

My mother made me sit in a chair in a boring spot as a time out. I made my children sit on the stairs as a boring location for a time out.

Bathroom seems ripe for mischief and the bedroom seems too fun. Agree with clear rules and immediate consequences.

My children are now young adults and we have a loving close relationships and I was able to also enjoy them when they were younger because they generally behaved themselves. Neither EVER hit me or my husband or even each other.

It’s really weird that OP argues with everyone here and acts like an expert on parenting, yet she is the one seeking out expert help with parenting her child.
