Sigh. Think: Damascus, Olney, Brookeville and beyond to Mt. Airy, etc. They are moving away from SS, Germantown, and Gburg for greener pastures…both literally and figuratively. |

According to niche.com (can't verify the quality of their data, but our principal seemed pleased with the rating), Bayard Rustin Elementary in Rockville is the #1 most diverse elementary school in not just MoCo but all of Maryland.

You can find much better schools with equal diversity. |
There was some study that showed that something like 25 to 28% was the breaking point. Lower income kids who go to schools under that % do better than their peers who go to school with higher % of low income kids. IMO, NWHS and RM cluster are probably the most racially diverse, with < 30% FARMs rate (last I checked this past year). |
2022-2023 Northwest High School: 35.0% FARMS Richard Montgomery High School: 30.5% FARMS |
wow, that's gone up from previous years. I wonder if that was partly due to covid. 27.2% for RM last year, 25% year before that. |
