Would you pay $10k to rent a beach house?

We have rented a $5k/week beach house with an extra bedroom that we offered to family. We did this 2 years in a row during COVID and had different cousins stay with us. It was fun. If you're certain family will cover half and you have $5k to spend, do it.

No. I would not, not even for a large family gathering. My siblings and parents all have different income levels and we've found it is best to be NEAR one another but not in the same place for finances and with covid. they alll got covid last year and were salty that the rental was non-refundable and I would not take on the whole cost nor allow them to come while still actively symptomatic and contagious.....

There are many houses on the DE beaches that rent for far more than $10k and are fully decked out. Big, new houses with every bedroom en suite, a pool and on a private beach cost money (that is IMO worth it, if you have the money to spend).

Would do only you have $ and are able to pay it all without anger if no one else joins or if they join but don’t pay. If can’t do that, get smaller house and then if other family wants to join, floor and couches it is!
