Would you pay $10k to rent a beach house?

God, no. Sounds awful.

Yes. We expect to spend that much this year.

We get a huge beach house just for our family (5 of us). Kids love it and pick a different room to sleep in every night.

When kids are older we will do other types of vacations. For now, it’s the beach.

All that money for a pretty crappy vacation in Delaware or NC? No.

x100000

People are nuts.

It would depend on how long you’re renting it for and how big it is. Also, what’s included, amenities , proximity to the beach, etc.

4 nights, oceanfront, nice stretch of beach on NC coastline, brand new, all updated amenities. It looks fully booked except for that one weekend I am looking at.

Absolutely not. That price is ludicrous

It's a decent-high price for 10bedrooms, but not if you don't fill it. Maybe find a smaller one?

Also it's a short trip for a long drive. It's a full day each way if you are going to the islands.

If this is what you enjoy and you have the money to spend, do it.

No comparable. The amazing plane ticket (not ones where you are all jammed up with everyone for that overseas flight, but amazing ones) are over $6k a piece. So, spending over $10k before the amazing trip even starts!

10K for a long weekend???? Nope

I know, right? People have lost their damn minds.

Seriously!! Just because someone is charging that much, it does not mean that it is worth that much. I could maybe see $10K for a private beach in New England, but even then, I would t do this.

Most of us don’t fly first class. I would still rather go overseas than go to NC for the money.

We spent 10k for two weeks but 4 days doesn’t seem worth it, especially since weather isn’t guaranteed

Location is everything. I would never spend $10K for an E coast beach rental (e.g., NC, MD, DE, SC). Never.

I would easily throw down $10K+ for a vacation in a significantly better location.

I just don't understand how NC ever became worth of thousands of dollars.

+1 $10k for a week could be plausible if it's 10 bedrooms or something. But $10k for 4 days is idiotic.

I’m a nanny and my bosses are paying $150k a month for a beach house in Malibu, but these MFers dont want to pay overtime? That’s cool. I’m in charge of grocery shopping and when they asked for steak yesterday, I spent $71 for 2 pounds at Whole Foods. You don’t want to pay me? That’s cool. I’m all about wasting you money everywhere else. You’ll pay, just not to me.

Agree this doesn’t sound smart for 4 days and uncommitted folks. Move on.

10k for a week. Of course.

Are you me? Did I write this. I hate these beach "vacations" with a passion but, alas, we all need to endure our share.
