No, but most doctors recommend birth control be started before the person is even thinking of sex because spur of the moment cases come up.

My kid had the knowledge and information from a very young age of birth control etc, but she was not dating and was in a rigorous STEM course, so she was not in a hurry. She also had access to good medical care and a trusted female pediatrician so I as not worried. She is very capable of self advocating too. I knew did not want her to date in k-12, or hook up with someone just for kicks in college. . I had to really tell her to be guarded and choosy and not sell her short.

She started dating in Junior year of college. Went to grad school, reconnected with someone she knew in undergrad, is working now, they want to get married. My kid is from a conservative non-white, non-Christian culture. Boy is WASP. I have adopted is don’t tell, don’t ask policy.
