+1 Just about the worst name you can call someone. |
+1. OP, redirect the attention you are spending on absurdities like “are teachers ALLOWED to give detention in MS?” (of course they are) to attempting to raise an actually decent human being. |
Boom. |
Good! You aren’t parenting, so the school is doing it for you. |
Totally agree. And while you’re at it, please tell your child that using “sped” as an insult is equally terrible. My child in a MCPS middle school hears this insult being thrown around daily and as a kid who receives special education it makes her feel terrible. |
Sigh. Are you really this DIM? Police pull people over for speeding when they CATCH them. The vast majority of speeders are not caught and pulled over by police. Try the “everyone else is speeding too, Officer — no FAAAAAIIIIIR!!” line with the cop and see how far it gets you. And since get had a ready-made, appropriate consequence of a video and a writing assignment, yes, “the school is giving anybody else detention.” FFS. |
+1 Glad to hear they are making it a learning moment. Kid isn’t learning that at home. |
+1! My first grader knows not to say horrible words like that, so does my fourth grader. Pathetic that your child has reached middle school without you raising him right. Good thing school is stepping in to make up for your failures. |
Who is “we”? If you are talking about the 30+ people arrested for storming the Capitol, who have the blood of police officers on their hands, they are not “fine.” They are in jail. |
I don't believe this! Others keep posting there are NO CONSEQUENCES in MCPS. How can this be true!?!?! |
Because nothing in MCPS is consistent. Each school is run as an independent entity. There is no oversight or accountability so each principal can do whatever they want. |
How dare they create all these consequences!?!?! It's crazy! What happened to freedom of expression? Is this not America!?!? |
I know! I even heard they offer math acceleration at wealthy schools that other schools don't get. |
If you want your child to be able to use this word without consequence, take a time machine back to 1985. Otherwise, stop complaining about your jerk kid. Learned a needed lesson, good on the teacher. |
This is ridiculous. It's probably not even in the top 10 of worst things you can call someone. this is why nobody takes SJWs seriously. Everything is always the "worst thing ever" |
