They want to be like GDS, Sidwell, etc. so they give out A’s and AP courses so that kids get into top colleges. I feel really bad for the teachers who have to deal with these average kids. But, feel worse for the kids who will struggle in these colleges. Bring back testing. That will make things right. My kid is a senior at Bullis and got into their ED school so I’m not bitter but just telling the truth. I honestly don’t think my kid would have gotten in without being at Bullis. No test scores submitted.

I really don’t think they do. That’s the whole point of this post. Bullis has surpassed Sidwell at least from a college matriculation perspective.

You have absolutely no basis to make such a claim.

Bullis hasn’t surpassed Sidwell in anything (unless it’s something negative). The PR piece the Bulllis administration released is a list of college acceptances for a small number of Bullis students.

Bullis is not the new Sidwell. Hallelujah. The Bullis college counseling office is amazing and the counselors haven't quit en masse as a result of the behavior of entitled, self-important parents. The Bullis college counselors are admired, respected, trusted, and appreciated.

Not true. Look at the matriculations. Even more importantly, the TRANSPARENCY. Bullis has surpassed Sidwell with its transparency at the very least.

I think all the Bullis parents who want to be in an arms race with Sidwell (stupidest posts ever) tell you everything you need to know about the culture/parent body at Bullis. The insecurity and weird angling for respect is a huge red flag for those who are looking for the best school fit for our children. This whole thread speaks volumes about where Bullis is after having an uptick in MCPS admissions. You are embarrassing yourselves, Bullis parents, and not reflecting well on your school.

If the bullis data is right and the instagrams are right then it appears a lot of bullis kids applied and then they rejected some top schools.

For any school who wants to get their ivy admits up, just take more hooked kids.

Are you suggesting that they may be fluffing the numbers or the colleges?

As a Bullis alum, I sure hope not. Let Bullis be Bullis.

Exactly! It’s a PR stunt. They are still desperate and the new Head is terrible. The school will never be on the level of the top schools in the DMV. The kids who go there are those rejected from the upper tier schools. FACTS.

They have surpassed Sidwell in all sports except girls basketball!

Please explain to me how the publication of college acceptances is a "PR stunt"??

I also think OP's question is being taken way too literal. Bullis doesn't want to be Sidwell. All the schools have their own characteristics and are proud of that. And there's nothing wrong about the Bullis community being thrilled for the Class of '23.

Bullis is where kids go when they get expelled elsewhere and can pay. Always will be that way.

Thank you for being so incredibly kind to Bullis students. And amazing how many expelled kids there are!!

Public school parents whose kid is going to your coveted Ivy school this year laughing. Look at you all! Bullis. Sidwell. Who cares!
ps. My kid is hooked HYP kind of hooked and we're not the only ones in public like this. You all think you have the corner on it all.
