Thank you for the responses. Last year only 5 students reported they are attending GT. Just wondering why peer schools (Purdue, UVA (49!) UMD and several others have higher attendance rates. |
From what I heard, this does not sound right. There are some surprises this year, but I truly believe these kids will find their perfect fit wherever they go. |
I can safely say these kids would not have been better off at their home school. |
How do we know these numbers are reliable (I hope they are)? Multiple parents from TJ said these numbers were incorrect.

Just wait. Now's too early. From past experience, nobody really knows for sure atm. The kids who got into school X may know a few other kids, because the regional AOs will have organized a virtual meetup for everyone in the region. Most attend but since it's Zoom, kids could sign in with no name or an alias. The numbers posted upthread could also represent multiple x-admits. I think TJ will do well, as she always has. |
Are these acceptances or matriculations? Safe to say acceptances so one student would have multiple acceptances at top schools. |
The DMV Princeton admitted students reception is tonight in person. |
How many kids are in the graduating class? |
Around 450. Maybe little less |
So many dropped out because of the old admission process! ;D |
How many were there from TJ? |
Not sure how many TJ kids attended. I couldn’t make the event. |
That’s about right. |
Yes, it's an epic failure. It's a disservice to the wonderful students, the most hardworking, down to earth, and brilliant young people of their age. The current admins focused on anything but promoting academic excellence. The infamous lawsuit and disgusting and long-lasting battle among different activist parties put TJ in a bad lighting and impaired its reputation, which had negatively affected the college admission officers' decision making. The turmoil around the admission changes inevitably affected the morale and mental health of the teachers and students. Many good teachers left. New teachers don't even know the materials they teach. Many good counselors felt less interested in helping students. Many students were left by themselves to navigate the complex college application process. Sadly, there are more to list. The school just failed its students. Just ask any current senior how they felt about their prom last weekend, not to mention the ridiculous incident. This year is probably the start of the falling of a great school. |
I know! These are prestigious schools but most of them are terrible at STEM too which makes me wonder why these kids even went to TJ. |
