How have early results been so far at your child’s school? Specifically Ivy/Stanford/Duke/MIT

SO what happened to Thelma at public or private school X in Palo Alto really has no bearing on our kids. It may be marginally interesting to hear that NYC private school kids are killing it while ours are getting shut out- but it's a different landscape in every city.

So to answer the OP question at our Big 3- Ivy And Stanford/Duke/MIT early action results are worse than usual, less acceptances more deferrals and rejections.

Were any schools particularly favorable despite this?

St. Albans seems to be doing really well; most of the academically strongest boys are still pending so time will tell.

I can't tell if you are joking but there are a lot of really impressive kids in this senior class. My son's impression is that it's there are 20 or so who are complete rockstars and very few who lag behind.

Unfortunately admissions is looking brutal this year so hopefully the fallout isn’t too bad for them

LOL no.

Love UVA but still no

This.

St Albans parents know the school is having the same issues as everyone else EA acceptances down at IVY's rejections and deferrals up.

God- every time I hear high school kids described as “rock stars” I want to throw up.

NP. Why? I assume "rockstar" is shorthand for a kid who has great grades with the most rigorous classes and high test scores, along with some combination of great extras (sports/clubs/service/music/leadership. Calling someone a rockstar is a pretty common way of conveying this.

A complete mess up? Working for a second rate president that uses half a million dollar missile to shoot down unmanned spy balloons over water? No thanks.

I hear Shitwell Fiends did very well again as everyone is going to UVA or Northeastern since they are the top two schools on the Planet. And they always have a 100 percent acceptance rate since the Quakers invented Oats.

If you think Zients is a complete mess up, boy will you be disappointed with how 99% of others’ careers have turned out. Second most influential government official in the most powerful country in the world, along with running several multibillion dollar businesses is a failure now.
