It’s not the lower calories that make it tough, it’s the nausea/vomiting. But when I’m feeling okay I have plenty of energy. If you can eat a reasonable amount without triggering the side effects you will be fine. |
Exactly. During the pandemic I finally became a morning exerciser but the Wegovy often makes me nauseous in the morning so that’s affected my ability to work out. I even once threw up in the middle of a work out. |
Here are my full stats:
45yrs old 5’9” tall start weight 201 Todays weight 192 I’m exactly 6 weeks in I’m still only taking .25. I’d love to drop weight faster, but this isn’t a bad balance. I’m still hungry, ozempic just takes the edge off. |
^^^ oh and no side effects. No nausea or vomiting. I feel normal, just don’t crave junk food. That’s the big difference. |
The whole point of the drug is that you lose your appetite. So you can eat what you want and still lose weight, because the drug makes it so that you don't want to eat much. But it doesn't work for everyone, as OP is discovering. OP, maybe ask if you can switch to Mounjaro? |
I wouldn’t describe it as “eating whatever you want” I would just describe it as being able to plan and execute a healthy diet, even in the presence of restaurants, snacks etc, without making yourself insane and sapping all of your executive energy. It just makes the part of me that wants to eat healthy stronger than the constant craving. And I can eat like, half a cookie and then stop. Whereas before I really had to go full monk and never go out or indulge in any way, like an alcoholic going dry except obviously I still needed food which made it even harder.
I think one of the craziest things about Ozempic is I had not really considered that my problem was being hungry. I didn’t know you could be “hungry” if you’d already eaten more than enough. I thought it was just “emotional eating” or weakness or whatever. Now that I’m not hungry I suddenly realize how hungry I was. And I’m not talking about like, getting hungry for the next meal, which I now experience and can easily manage. It was more like a constant buzzing in my head. Anyway godspeed to everyone, I hope if you try it it works for you. Consider keeping it private, because this whole discussion is so fraught and you kind of need to protect yourself and your relationships. |
How am I overeating if I’ve lost 80 pounds in a year, exactly? You seem to be missing the point. The medication makes it so you don’t overeat because you only desire a modest amount of food. |
