We’re reporting only 2023-2024 right now.

And of course, it’s expected that Parochial schools are a lot more affordable than Independent ones

It’s not a parochial school and yes, esp for purposes of financials, there is a difference. But you be you.

Well a school name was not mentioned but you be you.

St. John’s College High
St. John’s College High School’s annual tuition for the 2022–2023 school year is $22,950. (For students accepted into the Benilde Program, the annual tuition includes an additional $3,500, bringing the cost to $26,450. )

Assuming a 5% increase, the future tuition would be $24,045

Trying not to make assumptions and report actual tuition. This year, some increased 2% and some 6.5

How much should someone budget for additional fees on top of tuition at Sidwell and Maret?

So which of these schools will be passing along the increase to the teachers in pay raises? I hope it does get to the teachers that would make me feel better about my schools increase. I doubt it though.

For folks also looking at lower grades, some schools are inconsistent whether school-provided lunch is included for all.

For example, Potomac is inconsistent about lunch. It is optional and extra cost in LS, for example, while not optional for some other grades.

Vent: I really wish Potomac would change and be consistent. I wish they would just have a hot family-style lunch for all grades, as some other private schools do, and include it in the standard school fee structure at all grades.

I disagree. I'm a parent of a Potomac LS-er. MOST of DC's friends (including DC) bring lunch because they don't eat the meals offered. I don't want to have to pay for lunch when I'm packing it anyway - and it would lead to an enormous waste of food and money.

Worry about the fact they can’t teach math before you get uptight about lunch

Field is newly charging $2600 round trip for bus fees next year -clever way to increase tuition by 7.9% to $56,935 (without lunch) for most families.

To be fair and accurate, some families do fall into that category. And some families will use the bus only one way for $1500. Some families do not use the bus at all. And families on FA will realize FA in their bus fees. I appreciate the fairness of only being charged for what I use. Plus, I don’t think other schools offer free bus service. If I’m wrong about that I’m sure someone will let me know. Speaking of clever, Field is raising tuition for the middle school 0.0% next year.

+1. I totally agree with this.

I think I read for SSSAS that lunch is extra for K-8 but cannot find anything about upper school lunch. Is it not included? I know they have a new cafeteria space opening up next year. Wondering if any current SSSAS upper school parents can chime in on that? I know it seems ridiculous to even consider whether lunch is included, but every little bit matters sometimes! It's a big deal to us.

Madeira $54,200/$69,500 (includes 3 meals per day, even for day students) (about $10K more if you want to board your kid's horse. Not sure if horse lunch is included).

Lunch isn’t offered in U.S. this year because of the construction. Kids bring their own or pay-as-you-go with a few services the school has set up (you pay the service, not the school). When the dining hall reopens next year, lunch will be likely be included again. It was previously included in tuition when the dining hall was open.
