PP — one more re the teacher offering his services. Is this the looney “new private school” guerilla advertising?

Too much to add transportation as many don’t even offer. Agree most schools have fees so let’s try to keep basic apples to apples.

Gonzaga $28,240 (includes lunch)
Basis McLean $35,000 (lunch?)
St Anselms $35,000 (doesn’t include lunch)
SSFS $40,980 (includes lunch)
Georgetown Prep $42,190 (lunch)
Burke $45,996 (lunch?) This is 22-23 need new
Maret $46,230 (includes lunch)
Potomac $48,988 (includes lunch)
SSSAS $49,030 (lunch?)
St. Andrew's $49,680 (includes lunch)
Landon $50,409 (includes lunch)
GDS $51K (no lunch even for sale)
NCS $53,208 (includes lunch)
Field $54,335 (doesn’t include lunch)
Bullis $54,540 (includes lunch)
Sidwell $55,140 (includes lunch)
STA $55,468 (includes lunch)

Holton? Checked SJC and GC, they don’t have 2023-24 up yet.

Why? What’s the point of this exercise?

It’s already evident they all (bar Catholics) cost the same. But some are much better and hence better value for money. Done.

I was looking a few years ago and thought Burke was $40k back then. If so, that’s quite a price hike.

How would one qualify a “higher degree”? Is it the number of letters after your name or the fanciness of degree? It’s not the level of the degree that qualifies someone to teach. I’ve had plenty of PhD craptastic educators and even more Ivy League card-carrying wastes of space. It’s experience as proven by a string of fantastic results across a wide range of subjects with a wide array of students that is the ultimate test of a teacher’s ability.

Depending on the subject, a teacher should be highly capable of teaching a wide range of other subjects. Let’s be blunt: an AP Physics C teacher can teach all lower math and physics courses. They should further possess the ability to teach other sciences - I say sciences - not policy courses disguised as science. So - bingo. 1 teacher for all STEM. Then you just need 1 teacher for all Literature. Find the AP lit teacher. AP History Courses are merely a blend of proper writing skills and facts that one can use a textbook and internet resources to stay a couple weeks ahead of the students.

But fine. Let’s accept that one teacher is a bad idea due to whackiness. I’ll find 5. Top talent. I can probably convince a couple of different department chairs at a couple of these different schools you hold in such high esteem to join me on this quest.

Oh and exam prep? That’s a joke and a half. These tests are in a race to the bottom as they compete for market share.

It’s same as all others. Most have had $5k increase in just one year.

Really, this is not the thread or even forum for you. Why are you here?

No one cares.

Also parents are after the network of peers. Lots of “fanciness” required.

I don’t need the validation. That’s all been done. Again, what’s the point of this thread? It’s not like schools do price matching or like you can go to any school you’d want to?

I assume you are speaking for the only person you would have actual knowledge of their interest, ie yourself?
