Was getting peckish (or maybe bored?) this afternoon so I made a cup of coffee and added some cream. No sugar! |
Great work!! |
OP checking in for the day. Met my goal and stayed under 25 g added sugar. Had a good workout including strength training. Tomorrow begin the meetings. I will not break my streak and start binging on sugar! |
You got this! Think about having to report it here if you decide to binge on those crappy pastries! (I mean, nothing bad will happen. We'll be sad for you. But you don't want to let us down!) |
I just want to add I love this thread b/c it is very supportive. Lots of threads on these boards devolve into name calling and just mean comments.
SO, the beginning of a new low-sugar day! I'm going to pull out some protein right now to make it accessible for me to eat later. |
What are you having? |
This thread is really helping me today. I desperately crave sugar when I’m tired and I am TIRED today. Did well yesterday with sugar but got high sodium take out (just a fish dish, but also heavy side dish with lots of salt) so I’m up in weight today which is disappointing. Will keep trying! |
Meeting breakfast went well! I choose fruit, scrambled eggs and chicken sausage. The sausage was definitely sweetened (why?!??) but I did not have any muffins. For break, there were doughnuts. Guess who had unsweetened hot tea instead of a doughnut???? Me!! Go, me.
Still planning one sweet today. Do you guys vote for a post lunch brownie or should I save for a reception pastry at the end of the day? I won’t get my workout in today. Trying to stand up in the meeting when I can. Thanks for all the support. Added sugar is something you can work to avoid that cleans your diet almost without trying. I am so glad it’s helping others. Stay strong, everyone! That salt weight will come off. Don’t stress about it. Don’t turn it into a failure. It’s a choice. And occasional choice. That’s it. |
I haven't touched a sugary soda or any candy/sweets in 10 days now. For the most part, cravings are gone. The most I will permit myself is one cracker with peanut butter on top. |
Nicely done! Peanut butter is on my short list when I crave a sweet. |
I've been having organic peanut butter or almond butter every day! Is that bad? I am doing well with my weight loss though. |
No! Nuts and nut butters without added sugar are good choices for healthy snacks. Vegetables Fruits Nuts Seeds Whole grains Best choices above. |
I had a dessert at lunch. It was three small squares of brownie with mousse on top and cut up strawberries. I didn’t have any snack and chose an unsweetened seltzer for the break. Next is a reception. I’ve had a great no sugar binge day so far. I am not going to drink alcohol so I may allow myself one more sweet. |
Op here. Day went pretty well. The reception/dinner options were a mixed bag and I did end up having three small pastries. Probably two more than I needed to have but I don’t think I blew it too badly. I didn’t sneak anything or feel like I was over indulging. Probably didn’t stay under 24 g but certainly under 50 g. I’m proud of myself for not binging. |
NP here who went no added sugar a couple of years ago (with occasional lapses when something looks very good or can’t be avoided). I switched to oat milk as well and it doesn’t have added sugars unless you buy the sweetened kinds. The reason it seems to have added sugar on the label is because of the way it’s processed - the sugars in the oat are extracted out through the “milk” making process and then added back in - therefore the labels have to give the amount of the “added” sugar. But look at the ingredients- there isn’t any sugar listed there. The “added sugars” of the nutrition label are just from the oats. |
