Not the comeback you think it is. We don't "only see color." But we do recognize the REALITY that America is an ethnically and culturally diverse nation, and we represent it as such - as opposed to the GOP, which is 99% homogenous white culture.

The question is, why don't Republicans represent the REAL America?

Don’t kid yourself that Democrats represent the “real” America either. The entire Democratic power structure from donors to lobbyists to staffers to consultants to PAC directors is white. Rare black tokens in places of visibility who answer to white people and everyone else Black acting as lowly foot soldiers do not representation make. Democrats look good on diversity only in comparison to Republicans. We have TWO white-dominated parties that exploit racial minorities, especially Black people, in this country.

This is untrue and typical conservative projection. Democrats go out of their way to give opportunities and put minorities in the positions of power. In the House, 25.3% of the House Democrats are black, which exceeds the paltry 0.9% of the Republicans, to even it out to 14.9% overall, which is in fact reflective of black population percentage in America.

Are you really representing the hard-earned wins of Black politicians as opportunities Democrats “gave” them?

Bingo. Democrats very much like to think of themselves as "benefactors" of blacks. Without them (they think) blacks would have nothing, no successes to speak of. That mentality makes me want to vomit, and I'm a POC.

Black Democrats are not outside the political process or the government. Black Democrats and others vote for Black and White and Hispanic and Asian and Native American Democrats who support and represent them and their political ideals. Look at the House, Senate, state and local government officials. There are thousands of Democrats in office who are earnestly representing the interests of POC. How can anyone not see that?

No one has claimed otherwise. What IS a fact, however, is that Democrats consistently and constantly pat themselves on the back whenever a black politician is elected. Why? Because of the color of their skin. Period.

That depends on circumstances, because in some circumstances it decidedly IS true. It's a fact that many lower income black families live in antiquated and substandard housing that still has lead paint, along with a much higher incidence of things like polluting industries and environmental toxins that contribute to a whole host of health and developmental issues including ones that result in lower IQ and other disabilities, and along with it, poor educational outcomes. There are literally hundreds of studies and reports on this. Educate yourself on environmental justice issues before making your bold yet blank-slate insinuations of supposed "liberal racism."

Conservatism is, by definition, about maintaining the status quo and being in lockstep. No matter how much they may fancy themselves to be "rebels." The only thing they are rebelling against is progress, they'd just as soon go back to their version of the 1950s.
